Its an old village. And glad you visited there, documented it well. Even finds mention in the 1964 Hindi movie Haqeeqat (Balraj Sahni, Dharmendra). The dialogue in the movie is "yehin kaheen Demchok ke pass". In fact it is a fair approach to allow tourists and travellers who document travels so at later dates China does not start claiming any lands under their cartographic aggression.
