For those who are interested; a demethanizer tower is basically a tower that seperates LNG into its different components when heated. the fumes rise and condense on different parts of the tower; getting different substances from each section of it. The heavier products at the bottom and the lighter products all the way at the top. Even the extra light gases given off at the very top are utilised. ( edit: thanks to anyone who helped clarify things in the reply section i'm not too experienced in the mechanical side of the tower only the science behind it since i major in chemistry we have to know how this works so thanks for the clarifications and likes in advance)

Most likely Dubai, as in the country, not a city ... To be fair, since this is not at all dissimilar from fractionating columns used in the petrochemical industry, you would naturally go to the Gulf States, especially Saudi Arabia, which has the largest crude oil reserves on the planet. So, naturally, you go to the places which has the biggest expertise in building such things (much like if you want a really big ship, you go to South Korea ...) ...

Few hundred thousand easily. Takes months of work to get to this point. Acquiring permits, researching routes, working with municipalities. Potentially having to actually pave/repave new road, knock down and put back up fixtures. Etc. Plus the equipment costs and salaries of all the workers. But at the end of the day a drop in the bucket for oil refineries.

Very well done video! The cinematography in this was superb. They don't really go into it, but I have to imagine a huge amount of route planning must go into this ahead of the move, I imagine the job starts a month or so before the tower even arrives at the dock, to figure out which route, which roads, would be easiest. Every turn must be meticulously planned, every bridge, every railroad crossing. I do have to wonder about this tower, why wasn't it possible to have it in smaller segments that could be assembled on arrival rather than shipped whole?

🤔 how does the DOT hours of service work when you go over it and there’s cops escorting you to your destination? Lmaoooo

Special regulations are in place for these drivers, and as far as I know, they are planned to never exceed max driver hours, if they do, they might have to change drivers at a certain point.

This thing was just in my town in Granbury Texas. It literally took the entire day to pass through town which is just a few miles. They said it would take 30 days to get to its destination in Texas. Its never leavingTexas and it’ll take a month!! Just crazy

I think this big ol thing come thru granbury on its venture. It looks big in the documentary but in real life it was something else. The work that goes into it. Raising lines moving signs turning traffic lights. It was a very well orchestrated event.

My dad worked for that company a while ago, before they got the name Lone Star, they were Davenport Transport LLC, the reason they have all those trailers, new office, and the trucks is because of my dad because he got them really high paying jobs. So now you know the backstory of Lone Star
