Demi Lovato performed a couple of minutes ago at the NBC WAWA Welcome America Festival in Philadelphia for July 4th before fireworks and the performances and their voice were on fire. @@desireesrensen2775​that’s normal, voice evolve with time and age ! Even if she’s not old 😅 she’s older than the time when she released this song ! And so many things can change the voice like tiredness, hydratation (i know it so well 😅 i’m singer and i have problem with drinking water or just drinking at all on the day, I’m not enough hydrated and that’s not helping my vocals cords), humidity etc.. etc.. there’s so many things that can change the way you sing ! (and like I said age 😂 doesn’t help aha but if you treat your voice well you can have some beautiful results through the age, look at Céline Dion ^^ she sound almost like her debut career ! I'm a classically trained singer since I was 13yrs old. I adore Demi live. I'll take, raw, real emotion, & stage presence over all the technical stuff. Demi can sing incredible & always has been one of my fave singers of all time. She knows her voice, how to use it, when to do what with it, her dynamics are always a part of her music and she knows exactly when to change them as well. She is one of the greats I think & what a joy this concert was to hear & see. Thank you for these videos 😁👍💕

Skyscraper is in that interesting position where it wouldn't be as good with a rock build up and all the bells and whistles. if she did a rerecording, listen to like, Miserable at Best by mayday parade or something and *that* is the way it should be rerecorded, if at all.

Same here. Usually when she does this song live, she either hands the piano part over to another pianist or plays the part herself but has a band and sometimes gets up from the piano before the song ends. It’s a change to get an entirely solo version of any song from Demi Lovato.

I think it’s because she’s performing the entire song solo with no backing vocals or melodies…she usually has help from her band….i think she can’t fully focus on her vocals if she’s playing the piano as she’s not super accustomed to singing the song lthis stripped down. Plus this was later in the show where you can tell she was tired and sweaty.

God Bless it and Demi. This was so indescribably for me to describe how it felt to hear Demi sing Skyscraper again. I saw someone else wonder what this would sound like with a rock build up. I am kinda intrigued by that idea on one hand but on the other I think that this is one of those songs that you just have to leave it alone.
