So season 1 was the backstory, season 2 was the setting up and season 3 will be the war itself, season 4 will probably be the decline

i remember reading somewhere that Ramin Djawadi rarely really puts the piano in the foreground of his tracks. The first time the piano was put in the instrumental lead was in GoT 6x10 where Cersei blows up and the Sept and she is subsequently crowned as queen (Track name: Light of the Seven). Someone even pointed out that the sound of the piano signals a major plot twist. imagine the way my heart dropped when the piano came in. we're in a for an epic season 3.

I’m literally crying. The tone of this music is one that greatly mixes emotions and the profound reality of the events that will unfold in the next season.
