It’s good to ask how soon Demko will dress for another Canucks’ game given an injury stint that appears to have already caused him to miss 12 playoff games and likely all preseason games scheduled for this month and next. Whether Šilovs will also be available, given his own recent injury stint (having to, unlike Mads Sogaard [under contract to the Ottawa Sens via the AHL’s Belleville Sens], sit out the relevant men’s national team’s qualifying tourney for the Milan-Cortina Olympics), for any of those games also remains TBD.

Yes it's all TBD. Silovs sounds like he's healthy. He's on the ice at training camp right now. People are saying he's 100%. I'm hope he's good to go bec who knows when Demko will be back.

@@kempnercanucks The 2018-19 season is the most-recent one to feature the use by the Winnipeg Jets of three or more goalies during the regular season, but that was possible only because Eric Comrie had started one such game. Not since the 2015-16 season has Hellebuyck failed to start even half of those regular-season games played by the Jets. this season, I see, among goalies under contract to Canadian NHL teams, going from Western to Eastern Canada, Stu Skinner, Connor Hellebuyck, Linus Ullmark (Sens) and Sam Montembeault (Habs) the likeliest to start at least 40 regular-season games each. Whether any other goalie under contract to a Canadian NHL team will start even 30 such games remains TBD. I won’t be surprised if any combo of such teams ends up starting three or more goalies during the regular season as two may not be enough.

@@wainber1 the new strategy is happening whether we like it or not. Rolling 3 goalies for the win
@wainber1Ай бұрын
@@kempnercanucks Connor Hellebuyck has for 9 straight seasons started more regular-season games in each than any other goalie the Jets have used on their roster. I can’t think of a longer streak during which a goalie under contract to a Canadian NHL team has started more games over more consecutive seasons than Hellebuyck for the Jets, with Freddie Andersen, from the 2009-10 season, as far as I can tell, having come closest via having started, for five straight seasons, more regular-season games for the Leafs than any non-Andersen goalie. Last season the Jets were the only Canadian team to have used fewer than three goalies at the NHL level during regular-season play. The days of very many such teams relying on goalies to start 50 or more regular-season games may soon be done.

Could the canucks place demko on ltir and sign swayman to a 1 year deal 🤔

@@TheBlazersfan22 The Canucks can place Demko on LTIR if a given series of medical tests determines he must miss at least 10 regular-season games and there are at least that many games left in a given season. For how long he will be on LTIR, should he be placed on it, is another matter.

Well at least we might have that extra 5 million in LTIR if he can't make it back till playoffs. 🤣😭

Put pool man on that also 7 mil. Right there. Maybe add a swayman on a 1 year 5.5 mil 🤔

@kempnercanucks well canucks got Kevin leiskinen . Nice . Demko probably going to be out for a bit

I can't get excited about somebody's third best goalie off waivers. I honestly believe Silovs, Tolopilo or even Patera is better than that.

I hear what you are saying but if they were why did they go sign Lankinen? Just a question I have for you. Thanks for watching and commenting. It has to be a positive and especially how affordable the deal is. Gives us more depth in net too.

@@kempnercanucks With just this season and next left in his contract , his days of playing for the Canucks may very well be numbered. It may be that if he does get to re-sign for the Canucks, he’ll be offered a shorter-term deal than his existing one.
