What's your reaction to this report from Elliotte Friedman? It's not very reassuring news, is it?

It's not good news considering that Demko went from having, following the 2019-20 season, for three straight seasons, started over half of those regular-season games the Canucks had played to having started, during the 2022-23 season, 32 of 82 of the Canucks regular-season games to last season having started over half of them once again but under 60. I find it difficult to believe Demko, given his offseason injury issues, will start 50 or more regular-season games (RSGs) between now and April. Last season Sam Montembeault, for the first season of his NHL career, started 40 RSGs and played in another and he was healthy. Stu Skinner started last season started and otherwise played in 17 and 1 more games than Montembeault, and that had been even with pressure on Jack Campbell to rebound last season, something Campbell would end up not doing before being waived and sent down to the Bakersfield Condors of the AHL. I see, unlike Demko, Skinner, Connor Hellebuyck, Linus Ullmark (Sens) and Montembeault, among Canadian team starting goalies, as strong candidates to start at least 40 RSGs between now and April. I don't this season yet see a goalie under contract to the Flames or Leafs starting at least 30 RSGs never mind 40, but with goalie depth, among those under contract to the Canucks, as clear as mud, this Canucks' season likely will heavily depend on Demko's stamina, with such stamina, given his injury history, no sure thing even during the regular season.

Put Demko on LTIR to prevent career-ending injury and sign Lankinen for 2 years.

We can run with a Demko/Silovs 50/50 split and run with the hot hand in the playoffs, Similar to the Boston model the last couple of years with Swayman and Ullmark.

Maybe time to look for a new goalie ? I wonder how much we could get in a trade for him now we know this new news ?

Wait until he gets to age 40-50, an age where you get knee pain for no reason.

It's been like 5 months since he got injured in the playoffs. Where is the rushing him? LOL. If he can't recover from a knee injury in 6 months, yes it's time to look for a new goalie.

I think Demko won’t have a good season and he will be like this for the rest of his career unfortunately. An injury prone individual

I mean if he is gonna be like petey that's kinda cringe

First the Benning regime runs this kid into the ground playing firewagon hockey... now he has to become a junkie to keep playing.

I mean sure, we injured him seriously from rushing him back last time, what are the chances it would happen again? Wait...

I dont think with this news Vancouver will be playoff contenders this season.. if Demko has to play through pain and we rely on Silovs and whoever the backup is, we won't see a repeat of last season. Yeah, maybe not the greatest take, but in reality, this is a very real possibility

@knganth3m is that what u think .. it comes down to the fact that demko gives his all . not the coach's ... o it's going to b funny when McDavid want 20 million a season lol nd u got to love how leon throws all his team mates under the bus 14 million o and he say I want them to all stay but take pay cuts so I nd McDavid can get all the money what a joke selfish to me 34million for 2 players lol I can just see it now nd no cup ....
