This is a demo of dbx encoded vinyl record. The sound in this clip is that of undecoded dbx - so not for your ears directly. Use a dbx device to decode this audio. Right now it will sound compressed and with wrong levels overall.
The disc is a Technics Demo disc from Audio Lab.

For those of you having a difficult time finding a DBX decoding unit, there's an audio production plugin called U-he Satin that has DBX type I and II built into it as an option. It also has Dolby A and B.

I had a dbx 122 for my Teac cassette deck and had a couple dbx albums (Heart, Dreamboat Annie and Virgil Fox Album, I think). The 122 had tracking problems and I would get a "pumping" effect when playing things. No noise though! Gave up on it.

I'm not sure the overhang on your cartridge is quite correct. My dbx decoder does an OK job on this, but the highs are slightly off in the same way they sound when a normal disc is tracking slightly off near the centre. (A slight "smudgy" sound on the cymbals.) Very nice demo, though. I wish more people on-line would post raw dbx discs for us to play with at home.

@@PhilipvanderMatten I was digging the Japanese DBX records recently and figured that there is almost nothing other than the few records put out by Audiolab Records, and they were sold for $200 each originally. Maybe the price tag killed the opportunity of DBX in Japanese market. Eventually, I found the full album from iTunes, it's called "the dialogue" by Takashi inomata.

What I would play indeed is a long playing recording I have of very sunny guitar music from Spain...And it beats that stormy drumming Japanese record of yours when it comes to Fidelity on High , and surely I say to you...

The sound is allready amazing without even dbx decoding from my pc sound -card to amplifier connected line out - line in through my DIY column speakers it's just only the sound level very low maybe because of the lack of dbx decoding ? but the sound quality is amazing warm and soft this Jazz acoustic bass :-)

I thought vinyl, cassettes, vtrs, nab carts and stls used type 2 and type was usually used on open reel machines and digital recorders.
