How long will they last before all that deformation results in fatigue and failure of the tire material?
@Ancalim8 жыл бұрын
What about getting stuck in mud? That empty space between the track and rim will fill up with mud, and gonna have you sucked down pretty good. Were those tyres tested for how they perform while the tractor is stuck?
@MitasAgri8 жыл бұрын
+Ancalim We tested Mitas PneuTrac in various conditions and in factthey are performing very well in the muddy conditions thanks to the larger footprint. Larger contact area with the ground means lower chance getting stuck in the mud. Self-cleaning properties are good and we didn’t have a problem with mud getting stuck between the track and the rim. It gets off the tyre while it is moving thanks to the centrifugal force and specific shape of the tyre/track. It is quite difficult to describe it in words and as soon as we will have a video proving that we will release it.

What is their weight rating can they be put on your heavy tillage tractor and withstand the weight of the equipment attached. They squat quite a bit with just the tractor. I like the idea compared to say fendt variogrip system with the airlines running everywhere. But there is also no variability. It seems like they went maximum grip while sacrificing load capacity.

I wonder what the tire pressure is on the tractor with regular tiires
@973motoguy87 жыл бұрын
Jarno Grooten probably like 80psi haha
@michaelkey84247 жыл бұрын
Considering there wasn't much give over the posts I would estimate around 30psi which is about 12 too much for most tractors as the recommended is 18psi for the rears and usually 24 psi for the fronts and I know from experience on those larger Case tractors makes the tires look like they are half flat when they are properly inflated.
@wiky57 жыл бұрын
my tires are filled at about 14 psi, so they must have much less. Bigger tires require lower psi for the same weight

how do you set the pressure?
@shoo46396 жыл бұрын
the same way you set the pressure of any tire. but...for standard tire in order to set the right pressure you need to know the actual load on the tire then set it according to the index book while with these tire you can simply judge it by the gap in the sidewall 'V' shape slit
@shoo46396 жыл бұрын
the same way you do with a standard tire, each tire has to be inflated to a pressure according to operation condition, it is the same with Pneutrac (Galileo Wheel) only the range and level of deflection is such that for every given application you will have bigger deflection i.e. bigger footprint and higher draw bar and less soil compaction.

as for fuel efficiency - on road: in cursing we measured (by leading OE) 7% more fuel on road when going up gears 10% less fuel so total road fuel consumption depends on specific routing. Off Road full consumption depends on soil in a sandy soil you can expect up to 40% better traction and fuel economy

@krrrruptidsoless7 жыл бұрын
I don't know about all the test being practical because tires are making contact with dirt. They should stick to selling the ability to withstand punctures. Which they didn't do. What kind of destruction can these tires go through before you have to replace them. That's the only real selling point
@michaelovitch7 жыл бұрын
This system will only be efficient on dirt where the thread can sink in the soil and allow the smooth par of the tire to touch the soil. Otherwise there is no benefit to use a bigger footprint if only the thread itself touch the ground,like on a compacted dirt road or asphalt. if you want to reduce ground pressure you need to increase the surface touching the ground,so the whoe tire,not only the thread. it's only for soft soil,otherwise ,no point at all.

Looks like they finally designed a tire to be run aired down and not destroy itself, much like off-roaders do and good off-road truck tires are designed to do. They are designed to be run slow with lots of sidewall flex. If you run a truck tire aired down at highway speeds long, you will destroy it because of heat caused by all the flex. Tractors will never do that. I would imagine they designed the sidewall to handle the flex of being run near-flat as well as the flex from the torque of pulling. It drives me craze how he calls them "peno track" instead of "new" track. I would hope it's not because he's an idiot and is actually because the corporate heads are idiots saying they are called that....a "marketing gimmick."
