used to work with them when they were in fashion the last time round 20 odd years ago . there biggest plus point was that 2 men could do the whole job no problem , down side was that it was hard to buckrake you needed to spend pleanty time rolling it and you needed a good shear grab in the winter . quality was much the same as long as you got it rolled enough , but you local friendly contractor will lift a lot of acres for £37000 and leave you more time for your hobbies

Woah!! 60acres a day?? I'd like to see that. What length is the day? Depends on the crop and the length of the draw. Mostly the crop. In Ireland crops of grass are absolutely massive compared to the UK or the eu. Don't listen to one word a dutch or German guy when he starts talking about big crops. We had two strautmann wagons the same as the one in the video. Plus two 170hp tractors pulling them. In Irish conditions a good day is thirty acres of first cut in May that's two wagons and a good day.. You will not put an acre in that size of wagon. With a bigger wagon you could be grossing 40t. We weighed with full loads of first cut and we were 32- 34t gvw. Get into a giga or a super vittesse 3 and a bigger tractor.. 40t gvw no problem. Thats OK on flat dry land. Hang that weight on the side of a drumlin in monaghan.. 😲😲 Roller coaster..

even in Ireland they cant grow organic silage heavier than they can on the west coast of Scotland with fertiliser . these units dont take a huge amount of power to drive them but to do the acreage you need a bigger waggon which holds more which takes more power to pull it up hills . i no of some 1 that has a t7050 chipped up to near 300hp to pull a waggon

The grass came in quicker than i expected and there is a lot to buckrake so i did not get time to go out to the field to see it working

ok. good prior. how well did it cut the grass compared to the jf?
@paraffindan15 жыл бұрын
well oviously if its organic and there is less crop which means a lighter swath =higher forward speed which also means less tonnes of grass per acre which means less loads to cart home which means you can clear more acres a day . as for the 300hp i beleive he's from wales and also has a shiny exhaust and twin becons on his tractor (that has nothing to do with being welsh by the way )

Well you said "another" wagon so that would mean three men, three tractors... self loading wagons were the standard in Holland ever since Taarup came with the 1030 in the late 70's...

is it the 4020 pushing in the silage or some other tractor
@odelsgut15 жыл бұрын
so are you thinking about selling the jf and getting a wagon instead?
@paraffindan15 жыл бұрын
you want to add 2kg per head of chopped straw into the mix when feeding it and that gives them the ruffage . you tryed asking on a forum try looking up forum4farming on google

1 man might b able to lift 60 acres a day but only if you got a 60 acre field of organic silage next to the pit and 200hp up front lol . how you get on buckraking it ??
