Male corrections officers have absolutely no business anywhere near where female inmates are showering or using the bathroom and should never be allowed to be alone with them anywhere in the facility. There is no reason that male corrections officers should be allowed to watch female prisoners showing or using the bathroom. There is no reason for a male officer to be allowed in the female parts of the prisons to be alone with females. Same goes with female officers. Just because you've committed a crime and most are without victims, doesn't mean you should lose your dignity and rights to modesty. Not to mention freedom from SA. Prison culture and prisons for profit must change. It's destroying lives for ill gotten gain and the lives of future generations. We as a nation need to focus on the actual illnesses that can be cured, rather than the symptoms that can be managed and treated. A hopelessness has gripped our nation. A sense that you will never get ahead by design. That unless you come from family wealth or have a great intellectual gift, there is no future in our nation now. "Where there is no vision, the people perish". It's screaming at us on our streets. As the rich get richer and get away with horrible crimes, the poor get poorer and dare not step out of line. Less they become just a commodity in the prisons for profit industry.

I always tell people, CO’s are literally worse than the inmates. This isn’t a rarity- sexual assault by prison staff that it is, this is just a moment when it was caught. The warden should be in prison.. everyone involved should.. and male officers should NEVER be strip searching women and vice versa.

When I was... In regular prison time, I intentionally broke the rules and acted crazy.. so I could get put in maximum security where there was no point of contact with anybody even the guards just because of these problems. The exception being when they cuff. to go to court and they have to cuff you first, but then there are always other guards around.

And let’s talk about how many of these women have been previously sexually assaulted in their previous life that had probably led them committing criminal behavior due to trauma and abuse. And I agree these are happening across the US nation. I can’t imagine what goes on in Iran, India, Afghanistan and other countries where these issues will never shine a light of day. No amount of money can take away this trauma away.

In France, the court has just found all 51 defendents guilty in a rape trial. The rapes were organized by the husband over many years. The sentences go from a few years to 20 for the husband. Would a US court have the courage to do that?
@ulleborКүн бұрын
Considering less than 3% of rapists see prosecution, that's all you need to know about the US.
@heredianna2496Күн бұрын
You think France is amazing for that. The maximum sentence for any rape in France is 15 years but they got way less (the husband got more because he is the one who organized a group rape and he is her husband so you get more for that byt still the maximum sentence possible is 20 years only for having his wife drugged and raped for years ) and although there were video evidence for each one of them most of them just got a couple of years some one year of jail time, 6 are now already out today.. There is nothing to be amazed about... Plus, the trial was a joke. They rushed through it because they don't have the money and the time. Many of them were found to also own pe...phile content on their computers but they did not even get investigated or charged for that. No time. Yes, they were found guilty with ridiculous sentences, and only because there were video evidence for every single one of them. So they had to be found guilty. In other cases, convicted rapists often don't even step one foot in jail when the victim is even lucky that there is a trial. When there is a trial for rape in the US people get more jail time when found guilty. Both countries are a joke in that regard and yes France is a joke when you know how it works so don't use it as an example.

No one talks about how rampant sexual abuse is in these facilities, in men’s prisons, women’s prisons, juvenile halls, foster care, you name it. Especially in California! I was in juvenile hall as a youth there. A Judge threatened to send me to another facility where a friend of mine was sexually assaulted on almost a daily basis!! Once you are a ward of the state or an incarcerated person in this country your body is not your own and no one is coming to save you in there. It’s so so common and normalized at this point in America. Everyone knows about the horrors and depravities that are committed against young people and adults in the carceral system, but no one seems to care because we’re assumed to be guilty of a crime and have thus relinquished our human rights. I’m so sick of getting flooded with ads for juvenile sexual assault attorneys and seeing stories like this pop up from time to time with no systemic change being done to end this rape/sexual assault culture in prisons.
