When they talk about the homeless population, many people do not realize that a lot of them are veterans. It’s veterans because they do not take mental health seriously in the military. My father serve three tours in Vietnam: he was a medic and a medical photographer. He took pictures of countless bodies, operations, and death every single day of his tour. If he did not have such a strong family support system, most of us active duty and or veterans, and we weren’t so nosy and all up in his business all the time every day, he would not be here today. Me getting out of the military and joining The counseling field and social working field, then joining the medical field is what caught his Parkinson’s before it got bad. My family is a family full of information and fight. How we’re fighting through these LA fires now. (My mom side of the family). The mental health of our veterans is an important fight, and that fight has been going on for a long time. The fight that should be happening right now, is for us women & POC who have and our serving, who have experience essay while in the military, who have experience discrimination and being required to give “favors” for promotions. That is what the military will go back to if this man gets appointed. I understand people do not believe that Black people are able, but World War II and other wars, including the civil rights would not have been one if people of color were not given permission to fight. I served two chores in the Middle East myself. I may not have been in a combat unit, but I was a police officer. I was tiny , under 100 pounds, but people feared me. I also built computers and was big on Security. So people knew to create strong, passwords and lock their computers. Every time they walked away. Because if I was walking the floors, everyone scrambled to make sure that they lock their computers and they had a strong password. Because if they didn’t, I would lock them out of their computers and they would have to spend their extra time coming to find me so that I can unlock them so that they can continue their job. Holding women and people of color back in the US arm services, will put the final nail in the coffin for the US And hey, I grew up in Germany, the country that learned from their history.

22 veterans a day…. The best thing you can do is not join the military and encourage others to not join as well. I joined as a Marine in 2014 and quickly realized that the service was nothing more than a bunch of pawns doing the bidding of the wealthy. Our defense budget should be turned into humanitarian aid at home and abroad. America is a sick place and as long as there are desperate people, some will choose to go down the military path.
