OK, America owns this. Time to assert ownership rights. So it should start conscripting Palestinian and Muslim Americans for national service in an American protectorate in Gaza to work with the US armed forces and USAID. US should send in the Marines and advise the IDF to move out of Gaza. Gaza should not be under IDF occupation. The American Protectorate would address Israel's concern with Hamas. Gazans could start to exercise limited local jurisdiction in municipalities. US aid to Egypt and Israel should be on the table for land purchases to expand Gaza as needed. Gaza needs an airport, seaport, subways, fishery access, and access for its wounded to leave the country for medical care. Enough is enough. Hamas and the IDF need to be over with in Gaza. Palestinian and Muslim Americans in Gaza can provide linguistic, cultural, commercial, and spiritual skills to help make the Protectorate a success. It is the beginning of the two-state solution. It's time for more of the American activists to act in Gaza itself. Amy and her team should be conscripted to establish a studio in Gaza to report on progress and failures. The rest of us will pay for it for the rest of our lives.
