Demoing STIHL RM 655 YS gas mower

On this one we got to demo de stihl RM 655 YS GAS mower. We ran it through some lawns with winter grass to see how it would hold up with one of the most difficult grass we have around here.

Have this mower in the UK and it is one of, if not the best wet weather mowers due solely to that plastic box instead of a bag. Means there’s never a drop off in pick up as the bag generally clogs early when wet where the box doesn’t. Not sure that is an issue where you live, but companies like Stihl, Etesia etc run the plastic box for our awful weather lol Great video by the way, All the very best, Lee Levi’s Lawns.

We’ve had the mower for 3 months now and we love this thing. The only down side to it from the crew is that its a 21 inch but it has a nice cut to it. The bagging on it is the best I’ve seen for any walk behind mower and I really like the full bag indicator on it. We really havent found any down side to this mower other than the size of cut to use it commercially.

Hello Levi, I am also in the UK and run a grass cutting business in Wales, so, you reckon this is a great wet weather mower? We get lots of rain in Wales. How does it compare to an Etasia and does it ever bog down or does it have plenty of power? Thanks!! P.S: how does it handle mulching?

They actually dont. So far we havent seen any ruts that have been left behind.

$1600 It does have a pretty expensive price tag but so far in my opinion machine is worth it.

This is not a 655 YS. This is a 655 VS.

I will have to give Stihl a call. They put the wrong label sticker on the mower. 😒😒😒 Triple checked to make sure it had the right one on there and it for sure doesnt. It says 655 YS on it.

@@srjlawncare6451 The YS has a kawasaki motor (same as the 700 series) and it’s a hydrostatic gearbox. Maybe you have a different motor (you have the one from the VS), but do you have hydrostatic gearbox or variation?
