And that was once a car factory, a tribute to hopeless politicians, bad/weak management/unions/ previous generation of workers who spent a lot of their time on strike.

I worked in that bloody awful place for 12 months .....slave labour....Sorry about the lads who lost their jobs though.

You reference your time at Longbridge as 'slave labour' yet feel sorry for those that lost their jobs. A contradiction, for sure. Well paid unskilled assembly work.

@@paulbroderick8438 Un skilled or not. It put a lot of food on a lot of families table including mine when my Father worked there. You had to have a very hard work ethic and be incredibly quick to meet the demands that were required of you. It might not take a lot of skill and it might not be for some people as they see it as mundane. But most of them saying those words wouldn't know what work ethic is. Also, the characters and banter at places like this you wouldn't get in todays soft, sterile, weak environment of safe spaces, comfort animals, work councilors and WOKNESS. It was the down and dirty, honest, labor that built character. I am thankful to Rover for giving my family the comfortable life we had and the opportunities it presented. Everything my Father worked hard for and built was because of Rover.
