Demolition Waste Garbage Trucks in Manhattan

While I was traveling in New York City back in June I came across a few of the hundreds of demolition waste trucks similar to these that are contracted to collected at various construction sites in the city every day. Many companies run on an on-call basis, meaning that they could be anywhere at anytime - it just depends which project needs them. One construction site can have multiple companies/trucks haul their trash away each day. While rolloffs are the standard method of storage for construction waste here on the west coast, space is extremely limited in cities like New York which is why they need stuff hauled away fast - another reason for there being very few roll offs on the streets.
Leach 2RIIs happen to be the most popular truck these contractors use as their compacting body, and being that most are paired with the old school Mack RD600 chassis, the entire operation vibes an extremely tough, rugged, dirty, and classic feel. Along with the occasional Loadmaster or newer smooth body version of either make, all in vibrant, customized colors, these demolition trucks never fail to be aesthetically pleasing.

these trucks also stay on the site until they are full and can't pack no more in. then they leave to go empty and return back and the process starts all over again

In some parts of the UK, and some Countries in Europe it is required by law to use a hose to keep dust to a minimum when demolishing a building or loading a truck, and they aren't looking at a 'garden hose' either, you have to have a "Pressure Washing type or a 2" Fireman's Hose", or else they can order you to stop.

Great compilation, always love seeing these demolition trucks in action! The second truck in the video was awesome. Love how it looks and the diamond tipper sure was neat. Operated at a great speed on top of that so really kept things interesting! That was different seeing the crew on the Emerald truck using manual bins instead of dumpsters at 4:20. Very cool packer on that truck. Have any idea who those guys with the backpacks are at 10:44? Honestly looked like some tourists just hopped off the street and wanted to help load up the garbage truck LOL. Awesome job!

WMmaster626 thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video. The Loadmaster indeed has a more than suitable packer blade especially for construction debris. I believe those guys with backpacks were construction workers who were done for the day and just helping with loading and cleanup.
