Man I installed LED headlights (basically the same dimensions of these) into my Mazda 3 headlight housing and boy was it fun. Mazda thought it was funny to put a spacer on the oem bulbs which fills in the gap that you have an issue with using aftermarket LED bulbs. You rotate the LED bulb to where the notch on the metal ring fits snug into the housing to where you can't push the bulb in anymore. My issue was the clip that holds the bulb in place once you get it positioned into the housing. Since I couldn't use the oem spacer, the bulbs would sit loosely in the housing. Basically what you have to do is manipulate the clip past where it originally locks in to another spot further into the housing. The heatsink on the bulbs were so huge that I couldn't get my hand in there. I removed my headlights by taking the bumper cover off and uses needle nose pliers to put the clip into place. After that the bulb is tight and doesn't move around. I don't really understand why it was designed to have that spacer, but just know that it's not going to be a super easy process with some of these LED bulbs.

I also don't recommend using the dust boot at all after ANY LED install. Everyone thinks of LED bulbs as being much cooler compared to other bulbs, but these guys get very hot. The heatsink's job is to pull the heat away from the diodes and putting the dust boot back on will trap the heat and can greatly reduce the bulbs longevity or cause them to short out. Yes the heatsinks can get hotter than your engine bay and need as much airflow as possible. As long as the bulbs are installed correctly, there is no way for moisture to get into the headlight housing by not having the dust boot.

So I’m planning on buying some of these, or something similar (just brand difference) and I’ve watched like 10 different videos and a few of them made the point about the “cheep Chinese” fan going bad rapidly and then the light over heating, would you say the same or do they hold up? Other wise I’d just get one with a decent size heatsink thanks for any help you can give me :)

Well in my experience of using this for about 6 months, they held up well. I mean i'll be honest with you, i've run only cheap LED's and they've all lasted over years of use, and these definitely showed better quality then the ones that I have used. Take a look, and see what you prefer!

Hey I need you to answer this ASAP my lights came in today and the little clip I got the lights out but then the actual led like rectangle part doesn’t fit into that little hole you put them into do you have like a different one or did you squeeze it in there somehow

o Kench DM on IG or Facebook and I can help you in more depth, not entirely sure what you mean. Out of the box, the lights fit directly, you won't be able to use the grommet (if that's what you're talking about)

Make sure you have H7 bulbs. If you do and it's not going in, make sure that the locking clip is completely out out the way. I had an issue with the clip moving in the way as I tried to install them. If both bulbs are doing the same thing, then I would say the rectagle piece may have a design flaw, and are wider than they should be, which is why they won't go in. It's not likely that is the issue, but it happens. If your installing them with the headlights still in the car, just keep rotating the bulb until it goes in place. Compare the new bulbs with the old one and make sure that ring with the rectangle notch are the same as the old ones.

Battery will drain faster, and the lights can go on when the car is off.

Eastsidee817 anything using power while it’s off will drain the battery, although the RGB lights will take a lot less power then let’s say normal head lights but I can’t confirm you can leave it on all night and not have a dead battery, best bet would be to have a friend with Incase you need a jump until you know the limit of it :))

The bulb is the RBG, but these probably won't burn out in your time of owning your car

If they're off, it's a regular LED. Color power & controls are through the app only.

Hey I'm not sure you'll know the answer to this but my lights instantly go to white when I turn my car on and they stay white the color change doesn't work when my car is on.

So your headlight switch is on AUTO and you need to control them manually. When your headlights are off, you will have full function of the RGB scale but when your headlights are on (which AUTO always has them on) then the LED bulb will function which doesn't give you the RGB option. Switch the headlight switch to off :)

Yeah I have a GT Mazda 3 2006 and my right headlights is the original one apparently 'HID'' with d2s bulbs and the left headlights is supposed to be an HID one also but doesn't have a ballist connected to it, but Its also has a d2s bulb. 🤷🤷🤷🤷 I thought mines were h7 till I pulled them out !
