"The people of this world prayed for salvation, light in their darkness. It was the will of the gods - you were supposed to be a hero." The chained priest eyes held a venemous rage, you never knew they had. But you did not miss the way their eyes flickered to the blood on your clothes, they way they hunched themselves away from your bloodied knife or the way they flinched everytime you stepped over another body. As far as you were concerned, the priest was terrified. And you revelled in it. A sly smirk blossomed across your face. "Well, sorry to dissapoint. I never could live up to dear old Fathers expectations." You knelt before another dead body, slowly wiping the blood on each side of their pale robes. You could feel their eyes burn into your hands, before you met their eyes. "You of all people knew that." "I do. I know he always made it hard for us, but it was because he was preparing us for the real world, he loved us-" The priest stopped. The knife was now embedded an inch from his head. "That man never loved us. What he did - that was never out of love. We were fucking children when he hurt us." You couldn't help the rage, how dare he? This priest was still under the impression that all that suffering, all teh pain was out of love? You curled your fist, and felt your voice raise."He hated us. Our Father would rather we burn alive than even try to love us. He was a bitter, selfish man who never once cared-" You stopped and stared at the priest. Hunched over and shaking. Was he crying? "Father must be right. He cared for us. He loved us. He wouldn't hurt us." The priest murmured again and again. You knelt next to him, and held him. "He was wrong brother," you whispered,"We didn't deserve what happened. We were good kids." You were both still and silent for a long time. Until finally the priest spoke: "I'm sorry brother." "What for?" "This." You opened your mouth to ask what, before the priest lunged forward. His hand on silver and drive the knife deep in your side. You felt blood, so much blood. You staggered away from his embrace, desperately trying to stop the blood. But there was so much, god it hurt. How could he? Your brother stood tall, his chains gone. Your vision started to blur. "Why?" You hated how meek your voice was, how much pain it held. From the darkness, a man, you once called Father, appeared. There was hatred in his eyes, aimed only at you. You looked at Father and then at your brother, the priest could not meet your eyes. Black edges crept into your vision, as you awaited his reply. "Because the people of this world prayed for salvation."
