@adancein it was a fest and we played at like 730. Was in a large parking lot and it was like 95 degrees out. The crowd wasn't bad actually in terms of numbers... but ya, I hear ya. Move ppl! 🤘 At least they bought hella merch.

Hey Matt!! I got a question for ya. I have that same JSX head and I could never get a good sound from it w out having to rely on a processor and its distortion. What's up w your rig? Tubes? Overdrive? Any tips to make it sound killer?

@Jeffmetal42 man I have been a fan of the JSX for a long time. Have always felt it's very punchy and has good saturation. Clean channel is good as well. Love the two different voices of distortion that it has via the Crunch and Ultra channels. I use a Earthquaker Devices Plumes on the front of the amp as a tube screamer sort of thing. Other tube screamer type circuits would do well. Speakers do make a difference. I use a Vader cab that was made in 2007. It's pretty clear and has nice punch. I've also used it with a Marshall 1960 Lead cab, and it was really nice. As far as tubes go, I have JJ Ecc83's in every position except the third preamp tube slot, which I have been liking a JJ E83CC instead. That slot deals with the active EQ, and I feel it helps to make it be a bit more aggressive. Power tubes, I just use Electro Harmonix EL34's biased to around 65% total dissipation. Some prefer 6L6's as the power tubes. I have tried it out, and it does help with a bit thicker of a sound. It's not a huge difference though.

@@DemonKingOFFICIAL my man!! Thanks for the info! One of these days I'll have to dig mine out and mess around with it. It's been a min since I've had the chance to break it out and use it. I rarely see ppl use that head, so when I do, I have to inquire ab it. Especially w you cause you always have a really clean, mean and tight tone.

@Jeffmetal42 thx dude. Hope you have good results. Also I prefer to engage the Fat switches on the Ultra and Crunch channels. I feel like without it's a tad bit thin ... but that is just me.
