It’s in Kansas, not exactly the hot spot of the universe. Big, old houses nearly always need work like updating the electrical and plumbing systems which isn’t cheap. Insulation needs to be added and once you start opening up walls you never know what you’re going to find. Yes you might pay a smallish amount for the house but you’ve got years of work ahead of you fixing up the old house. Add in malevolent ghosts and it’s not such a bargain after all…
