So just asking, out of all the bosses in demon's souls, which one were you not looking fowards to fight or struggle the most?

Flamelurker was probably the most frustrating, having no experience / knowledge of his moves. Once you understand his mechanics though, he's not that bad. Old King Allant and Penetrator were surprisingly easy but I think that's due to playing so much Bloodborne and Dark Souls which they're very similar to in boss designs. I think I died the most fighting those stupid Maneaters (gargoyles) haha. They're not even difficult but I'm very impatient and would die in stupid ways like getting tossed off the bridge from an easily avoidable attack.

Boss Fight Database honestly, anyone who can play and beat demon's soul has my all time respect. I try playing the game, only could beat 5 bosses, not including vanguard. So far demon's souls has to be one of most punishing game of the soul series.

Remember, this was the first game in the series. At the time, this game was incredibly difficult and brutal. After playing all the games and going back to it, its actually simple. But the atmosphere is still unmatched except for Bloodborne.

I think it still looks more difficult than most other fights in the series. Player movement looks a bit slow and clunky and after playing DS3 Bloodborne and Sekiro which are so much more fluid this will definitely take some time getting used to. Also the boss itself is hard even by Dark Souls standards, he has a lot of HP and big hitboxes and tracking in his moves.

i feel like this is the only game (in the souls series, all of them) with an undoubtedly happy ending, sure balataria lost its knowledge of soul arts, but the maidens duty is fulfilled and she was happy, the old one no longer had to bear its burden, the world continues on and we're now the glue holding reality together because of the strength we gained through adversary, we also put down the lost and wandering souls of balataria

@@youssefbarj9770 like with many of the souls games i think a lot is left open to interpretation on purpose, and the slow degradation and collection of souls into the bosses we fight (like phalanx and the tower knight being amalgamations and exaggerations of who they were) shows that its not dieing, its more like its rotting away slowly, sure it will eventually fade but the undead and soul fueled monstrosities of balataria would be there for a much longer time to come without our intervention

Allant's face in the remake just looks jarring and silly, the unnecessary yelling when he draws the sword and the music for some reason starting before the cutscene ends. It just lacks a lot of the subtlety and tension of the original Allant also just looked far more intimidating here, like an actual demon in human form. The fact that he makes no sound whatsoever only adds to it

This is the guy that redeemed Demon's Souls' boss combat for me. His attacks were just so fluid, plus he was simply as difficult as a final boss should be. (Not even mentioning that story-wise, this fight was also set up perfectly)

I Surrender Ok pal, I *really* think you should try and not be a such a stickler for details and admit that the thing that you press one button on 30+ times is not the final boss. It's a gesture, a symbolic proof of victory. Now you could say "Oh well in that case I guess you're saying Gwyn isn't a final boss too aren't ya?" when the obvious reply is that one actually puts up a fight, and a fairly decent one at that.

This guy isn't the final boss anyway, it depends how you've played. I still had Flamelurker, Dragon God, Maneaters and the Old Monk to beat after this guy. I see how you could play it that way though, all the archstones have just 3 bosses whereas False King was the only 4th boss of his world. Just started my ng+ playthrough though and I reckon I will save him till last this time (not including Old King Allant).

When I could finally afford a PS3 after getting my first job, the first game I asked for was Demons Souls. I actually meant Dark Souls (ds2 had just come out), but I didn't know enough to realize it was the wrong game by looking at the box art. I just happened to say Demons Souls. @@xamps1318 The remake did poorly in many matters regarding visuals. And Old king Allant is undoubtedly one of the worst redesigns in that game. Not only his face no longer is a stoic expressionless homage to Christopher Lee's legasy of villains, but his body is jarringly disproportional, and his magic looks like clouds of dust without the glow they had in the original. And his wings remind me of angel's wings in Diablo III - two plain textures with animations meant to imitate the otherworldly aura... Yeah, I have a lot of gripes on the remake.

I still have this game, and play it to this day. At the Greatest Hits/Game of the Year in 2009 in addition. When I first started as a kid I gotten through Phalanx, and Tower Knight (along with Armor Spider) bur nothing else. Now here almost 14 years later I'm back on it, and advanced way further almost at the end. I say almost cause Old King Allant is my last obstacle before getting to the ending, and I been stuck on him for months. Last night I managed to get stronger, and further to half of his HP while in my soul form as a test to see how I do so far.

@@shadwmage8115 I know, not saying you're wrong or anything, I just have no idea how anyone can prefer DS games to it, since they all fall short in comparison and usually have ideas, concepts and even NPC's and assets lazily copy pasted from DeS, while lacking its atmosphere and ingenuity. At first I didn't like DeS myself (my 1st DS being DS2), but the more I played it the more it grew on me. After it, I played DS1 and boi, what a poor failure of a spiritual successor. Bloodborne managed to surpass it, whereas DS3 is another forgettable entry that brings nothing to the table and is just a pathetic mish-mash of things from DeS, DS1 and BB. Again, none of those games are bad, by DeS has every other Souls beat despite being the first game and therefore, not as polished and expanded upon as the underwhelming successors :)

I think I've figured out what makes this version feel better than the one in remake it's his animations, he has a brief windup, then SNAPS into the end of the attack, which gives his attacks a sense of feeling. while it was originally a limitation of the engine it made him feel much more powerful because you couldn't track his dash attacks, it felt like he was attacking and moving faster than the eye could keep up remake allant is functionally the exact same fight, it's just that you can track his animations from beginning to end, causing them to lose that same weight. I do like the graphical improvements in remake, but the animation needed to carry this same snappyness to really sell him as the real allant fight.

It's also his introduction and his voice. In the original, his cape just falls away as he stands up, silently draws his sword and points it at you. In the remake, he does this exaggerated gesture to shake off the cape, then he growls when he draws his sword. As for his voice, in the original, he has a deep commanding voice that sounds like Liam Neeson, but in the remake he has this higher-pitched tone that makes him sound like a Lord Of The Rings reject.

Really depends on other stuff. For example, Pure Black world tendency made every enemy hit like trucks and spawned extra black phantoms. Whereas Pure White made it easier. Then there's all the in betweens.

Demon souls is easy because you have a infinity source of healing items. In ds1 you only have 5 estus flask making losing health much more punishing

The first playthrough of this took me a year ,after this game i beat the dark souls series,bloodborne,but this game was a chore.I beat it twice,the first time i played a melee class but i have to leave the upgraded short sword which i invested time and resources because i couldn't beat the knight of boos Maiden Astrea and i have to upgrade a long sword to beat it: the second time i played the game as a sorcerer and the developers have the bright idea to put a black shadow (red enemy) that regenerates its health and it is tough and had a katana at the start of shire of storms, it killed me about 60 times but this enemy was not in the first playthough,and this time happened after i killed the bosses from the other 3 zones.I hatted the fact that the resources for the needed upgrades and very rare or are not at all;i hated the fact that the focus/lock on of the camera disappears when the boss or enemy escapes the range of the camera and this problem persists in the dark souls series (i remember the lost sinner); another problem is the fact that the soul series have no pause,i mean when your sword is broke when fighting an enemy you have to open the inventory to select a weapon in good condition but this not pauses the action,you die because of this and when you want to pause the game to eat or go somewhere for some minutes the game doesn't pause (this is frustrating,i lost about 90.000 souls in forbidden forest in Bloodborne,i killed many enemies and i pressed start and went to eat some catfish for about half a hour and when i get back i was dead and i died again by some wyverns,losing all the souls,i was in a rage;another rage moment came while fighting the four kings on xbox 360 and the batteries of the controller died and the game continued)

Flamelurker made me start to realize the true extent of my anger and frustration with Demon's Souls. Maneaters started to make me question my sanity. But King Allant straight up put the fear of apocalypse into me, and my first time beating him will always be a satisfying memory like no other

Old King Allant just completely chews through your Endurance and Health, no matter how high they are, even if you're blocking with the Tower Shield. Add his Soul Drain deleveling move on top of that, and you're basically fighting tooth and nail just to stay alive.

Well, I got into Souls this year with Demon's Souls (emulated and with a control with a delay issue) and I got to fight all bosses... my honest review is... if you're gonna fight the maneaters, upgrade your weapons and stay always far from the edges. If the second maneater arrives and the first one is still alive, be more agressive. With Flamelurker, the same: Upgrade your weapon, always keep your shield up and try to get on his back, there are high chances of him getting stunned than if you do it in front. And with Old King Allant, well... fight defensively, manage your stamina so he can't have chance to catch you defenseless
