There's no reason why they wouldn't make it more orchestral to make it more inline with the rest of SoulsBorne. Tbh, I think most of the new tracks do a much better job at making the boss fight feel great, like a boss fight. Not saying DeS music is bad but damn, Flamelurkers theme just doesn't fit the situation at all and that's just one example. In the remake the music really gets the point across that this literal being of anger will pound you into the ground withiut hesitation.

I greatly prefer the simpler soundtrack of the original vs the remake. It's not that bigger more grandiose music is worse, it's just that simple and powerful songs, such as this, are becoming more and more rare. And I think the lighter instrumentation suits Demon's Souls more mystical vibe. The world of Demon's Souls isn't all that epic, it feels more mystical and cursed, and the slightly more subtle composition just works so well.

first time i entered the arena: I knew he was strong, decided to roll to the right to dodge, he smashed to his left, in turn hitting me and killing me with 1 hit. At that point the tone was set and i played through the game, i didn't die often, perhaps 5-6 times in total, but every level was a learning experience and i got better. After playing through the game twice (ng+ too), i decided to create a new character and face him again. To my surprise i didn't get hit even once. You truly learn.

I love this theme, and I recently looked through the Black Phantom Edition artbook (which contains the soundtrack CD) and weirdly enough, this ost is written as "8. Penetrator" and there is no mention of the Vanguard. While Tower Knight is written right above as "7. Tower Knight". Could it have been that the Penetrator would have his own theme? but then shared the same as Tower Knight in order for the Vanguard to have a unique one as well? I really struggle to think that it is an error that happened both in the artbook ost list and on the actual cd...
