The "Taisho-era secret" corner is like a bonus for Demon Slayer fans. It's a corner that randomly introduces the profiles and anecdotes(hobbies, experiences, profile, their family, explanation of their skills, etc.)about the characters. Occasionally, there are parody works in which Demon Slayer characters attend modern-day schools. You don't have to think too deeply about it. You won't lose the story if you don't watch it, but it will help you understand the characters. Many fans love this corner because they can hear anecdotes about their favorite characters, even if the information is unrelated to the main story. I think the reason why many people recommended you to watch "Taisho-era Secret" is because anime fans tend to want to hear unimportant but interesting informations about the characters. Are you interested in learning more about the characters' profiles and anecdotes beyond what's told in the main story? If you're not interested in those, you don't have to watch it.

Notice how Hantengu has an ability to obfuscate himself, Hantengu walked into the room of a Hashira and Tanjiro who can smell any demon, even Muzan miles away and yet even when Hantengu was in the same room as them both it took them over 10 seconds to even react to his presence and they didn't even know he was a demon until a few seconds later. Also, the way Hantengu enters the room is fricking terrifying in my opinion. I don’t know if it’s just me, but seeing a strange man crying and crawling on the ground entering my house would be pretty scary. Also, Gyokko is staying close to the Woods to avoid being detected, the spring there is distorting his scent but Hantengu just walked in, a show of how strong he really is despite his form. Great reaction by the way. It's always fun to see your opinions and comments about the episode.

Not all of the secrets will give you important information, just some of them. But that's why you have to watch them, so when they do give important information you don't miss it.
