This is how bias can affect you. People forget that these are the highest ranking members of an organization built to slay demons. Whether one is or is not a 'good' demon, that doesn't matter as no one will really know for sure in such a short amount of time. Imagine some random low ranking denon slaywe kid just brings a demon around with him everywhere he goes and you expect the most experienced, most knowlegdable members of the group to just accept that. That's beyond stupid. Almost all of them(demonslayer) have had to suffer because of demons and people think demons are automatically welcomed cause a few people think they are 'good'.

Never got why people think the Hashiras are being unreasonable here, like literally their entire purpose as an organization is to exterminate demons and none of them have ever even heard of a demon that doesn't eat people before so of course they would be extremely skeptical of this whole situation. And they have vastly more experience than somebody like Tanjiro so they understandably think they are right since this is their whole area of expertise. Thinking back, even without their backstory it's still bad to hate any of them, they don't know even one single thing about Nezuko, she's practically like any other demon in their eyes and where is she? In the demon slayers HQ... Tanjiro should actually be grateful that she wasn't killed before he even woke up, they were gathered to the regular Hashira meeting with just a basic extra report: "there is a Dumbass walking around with a demon on tow." Forget thinking that Tanjiro is crazy, in their eyes he was plain stupid and even a disgrace, look how even the Love Hashira was only concerned about Tanjiro being killed before getting any context about Nezuko while everyone was talking about killing both of them, they only recognized Nezuko when she rejected Sanemi's blood (for reasons we know), I know that this scene was made for most Hashira to get some hate since Nezuko is a fan favorite at this point but it's so cheap that it's surprising how anyone would hate even a little bit any of their actions.

Many here are trying so hard to give gatepass to those Hashiras and saying that they do not deserve such dislike. First, please remind yourself that these reactors do not possess further information about those characters. And at that point, the Hashiras just got introduced to them, and they have zero idea of who they are, or their backstory is. And even if they knew or considered/assumed (of them having a sad backstory), I still firmly believe that _some_ of their actions here are improper and deserve some disagreement. 1. Giyu can, but why can’t they? Sure, Giyuu saw their story himself and has some certain interaction with Tanjiro before. But, we also witnessed in the first episode that he was also skeptical at first, but he did able to approach the situation objectively afterwards, which led to where we are now. That’s how it should be- impartial and logical. Giyu let Tanjiro *say* his side, and he didn’t try to kill him (only Nezuko, the demon). 2. Hashira-level position. Not every Hashira needs to be exactly the same like Giyuu or Shinobu. Variance in personality and character is essential. But, *attitude* of a character matters depending on their position. Take the way on how they welcomed the master- they have the ability to show restraint. If you are in a top, leader-like position like a Hashira, approaching things *properly, objectively, and logically* is must have. You shouldn’t let your personal loathe towards demon take over you just because you have a sad backstory about them. The job description of a ‘demon slayer’ you say? Sure, and I stand to testing Nezuko as a very valid thing to do. But to also kill Tanjiro? 3. Tanjiro is a human. Demon slayer slays demons to protect humanity. Tanjiro is a human who is part of the humanity. He is even the most at risk of getting eaten by Nezuko if ever, but they didn’t in the slightest took those facts and proceeded to just wanting to kill him too without considering or hearing his/their side at all (so tell me, are those an objective approach? A logical step?). That even shows that some of them are doing their ‘slayer job’ not just to protect the humans, but part of it because of the hatred that was form in relation to their personal sobby backstory. 4. All feelings are valid. If you think your love with others or Sanemi is valid because you _‘know’_ them/him, sure. But, these reactors hating towards these newly introduced characters to them are also valid. It is the goal of the *tone* of this episode, and with their current knowledge of the story at that point, those are all normal. You also need to perceive that the stabbing and unfairness (not wanting to listen to Tanjiro’s side and just killing him) is improper, illogical, and very subjective for a Hashira and it deserves to be disliked and disagreed on. A character is great if they are imperfect, that's one that gives flavor to stories after all. You can also feel all the sympathy to Sanemi or others as much as you want, but that doesn't, shouldn't, and wouldn't make those illogical and improper things they did as something right or acceptable. They have acceptable reactions (due to their own history), but not their actions.

Yo I know i'm a little late but I agree 100%. Ever since this exact episode where she got a lot of hate for being a hypocrite she always puts on her little faces whenever Sanemi is on screen. She then went on rants arguing that the haters are bias because they know Sanemi's backstory but its the same with her having bias to Tanjiro and Nezuko and being all "uwu" witht them. His backstory isn't the reason at all either; being in an organization called "Demon Slayers" and randomly being ordered to chill alongside a "good" demon is beyond stupid no matter if she hasn't killed any humans. I've watched her do it with a few other characters as well where she judges without using her brain because she's main character centric but when she gets backlash and other opinions she acts flabbergasted as if she's always right lmao. Then after that she just hates the character in general even when they get redeemed. Watch when Sanemi's backstory gets fully depicted she's still gonna be indifferent because of the backlash. Not really. It's completely illogical to believe that all the Hashira are going to be the same. Sanemi should not be disliked because he hurt there "cute wittle Nezuko", he's a demon slayer, it's his job. But people weren't really taking that into consideration, so they instantly judged him for his actions.
