Li addressed Shimono as 下野老师 throughout, which would be "teacher" or "sensei", 下野先生, but they translated it just as the ordinary "-san" for Shimono. Using "teacher" is a conscious choice of respect and warm feelings on Li's part, and i hope it makes it through to Shimono someday 😅 Defn looking forward to the next part!! WASSHOI

i caught up to the Tanjiro part, and noticed the same omission when the Chinese Tanjiro addressed Hanae as such. They didn't miss it when he used 长辈/senior/senpai though. 😅 It makes an important difference in conveying their feelings, and tbh no Mandarin-speaking kindergartener would miss this choice in diction. I'd really like to see it come through in future translations, especially when a direct translation exists for these concepts haha

Just like you said, this kind of thing is actually pretty important to show the accurate feelings the speaker tried to convey like the sense of respect in this case... 😊 I believe IT IS important if we are Asians because we are very particular when it comes to communication... Like when to be formal and informal or addressing a close friend and someone we just met is totally different... So yeah... It should be important 😅
