I hate how people call Akaza a coward for running. He wasnt. He literally CANT fight in the sun or he auto dies. We know damn well if it worked the same for the humans theyd only be fighting at night and running at day too. In the first place, demons and humans are not equal. Demons recover quickly, but humans do not. Demons have the advantage at night. Humans have difficulty even identifying their enemies. Tanjiro said that the very existence of demons is cowardly. This is a situation where emotion, not logic, is important.

Yeah, even when I still hadn't read the manga, I already knew he wasn't Tanjiro's father, they made it very clear Tanjuro is really gone. I just think they left themselves believe it cause it happens in almost every shonen, where someone from the family of the main character turns out to be a villain or has something hidden, funny thing that this ain't true for Tanjiro's family, but it was for Ubuyashiki's, since Muzan was once from that family.
