The Earth and possibly other living things in the unimaginably large universe can go right on living without us, right? We are definitely NOT at the center of the universe. One more question: So is the very real possibility of an asteroid striking the Earth and wiping out the larger mammals (including us) ruled OUT by Biblical prophecy? This mammalian extinction could be over in less than a month btw.

I was with him until he denied the existence of giants. There are dozens of archeological sites that possess bones of giants as well as traces of the same Babylonia society. Everything else makes absolute sense and I love his bringing forth of the word.

I think this is an older sermon. I, too, believe they did produce monsters/giants. It was a race of hybrid beings. They were born of flesh, and could die, just like Jesus was born of woman, flesh, but his spirit was immortal. Demons are those spirits that once were the in human / angelic bodies. Before the End Days God promised to unseal these hidden things. John MacArthur is a very sound preacher, but not in total knowledge of all the mysteries of the Bible or God. No human being is. He is very good at explaining the Bible.He was probably taught the Sethite version in seminary. I’m grateful God is revealing to those looking each day. God bless.

I just found this video and haven’t listened yet but God wiped the whole earth clean in the flood however we know the giants existed after the flood. I don’t know where they came from but they existed. I want to know what species lived before the flood. God didn’t like them.

You might want to check out Pastor Mike Hoggard. MacCarthur has completely missed the mark here. It's all about DNA. Noah was perfect in his generations. Operative root word genes. I just came from that video👍 I've been binge watching KZbin videos ranging from Mike Winger and Greg laurie to Amir Tsarfati and JD Farag. I love hearing about end times prophecy and God's Love/Judgement. It really is a remarkable time to live on the earth, incredibly evil and dark times are upon us. I have come to the conclusion that McMarthur presents here a long time ago through my time in the Bible. This is by far the best take that I have ever heard on it. Especially the part about how it was about man seeking to be gods, which is evident in history all the way up to the present. It's still going on today. Honest to god, I used to do the same thing. Even took an interest in folklore of varying cultures, read stories and passages from the Quran, and youre not gonna believe this, but started taking an interest in the occult too. Untill i read the book of proverbs. First as JUST an observer, and a ponderer. Next as kind of like a philosophical guide with excellent advice that Def still holds up today. Then, I allowed it to spiritually influence me, and Everything started to come together like an eyebrow lmao. I couldn't be in denial anymore my dude. My interest in the bible started to snowball out of control and I developed an intense urge to Learn. [My favorite being the story of Samson the strongman against the philistines] but yeahh. the more you Learn, the more it makes sense. But no doubt we all have questions regaurdless.

Great lecture and explanation. The Nephilim (Hebrew: נְפִילִים, nefilim) were the offspring of the "sons of God" (fallen angels) and the "daughters of men" before the flood - the "giants" of Genesis 6:4. The proof of this is the gigantic human skeletons found in Asia Minor, Europe and through North America. Yes, they were men of flesh but they were giants since their "flesh was corrupted". The word "flesh" can be understood as their DNA was corrupted and they could no longer be regarded as "mankind".

The writings of Enoch that were discovered amongst the Dead Sea Scrolls give great insight into what transpired in Genesis 6. It seems clear to Biblical scholars that the Book of Enoch was known by Jews, because a short section of 1 Enoch (1:9) is cited in the New Testament Epistle of Jude, and is attributed there to "Enoch the Seventh from Adam" (1 Enoch 60:8).

Enoch1 as we know it could be scripture. We don't know for sure, but a very good case can be made. 2Esdras, also can be scripture.. he wrote 3 books and had his 4th left out??? And the winner of the day is the Book of Jubilees. It is definitely Torah. It was written by Moses and accepted by the Levites, all the Yahudim, Yahusha Jesus, John the Baptist, and all the Apostles. In fact most of 1John has no witness without Jubilees. John 3:16 is directly from Jubilees, and so much more from Luke and Mark. These people would rather let a catholic council tell us how we should worship. They were persecuting us, and removing scripture all at the same time.. and yet this is the "cannon" we are expected to accept. No.. I trust Yahuah God, and what the Angel dictated to Moses.

It's worth noting that from the line of Cain you see the development of culture. In other words, Cain's descendants are noted for their works. Seth's descendants are noted for begetting life, which was God's command to Adam and Eve. Similar to Cain bringing the fruit of his labor while Abel brought a living sacrifice. God established the shedding of blood to cover sin when he gave them garments made from skins to cover them.

It sure would’ve seemed like end of times to the Christians alive during Roman persecution, it would’ve seemed like end of times whenever a massive catastrophe or war broke out, and it absolutely must’ve seemed like end of times during both of the World Wars. Careful with what you see online, lots of shady “wisdom” but it doesn’t hurt to always strive to strengthen your spiritual relationship. You may or may not live to see what’s in Revelation but you will 100% experience death regardless. Look into the various translations and interpretations of scripture. Some is eye opening, some is terrifying, but most is hopeful

I am captivated by your analysis. I am impressed with your length of time spent on research as well. That being said, I'm at 25 minutes in, and I was taught that when man turns away from the lord, it's a case of idolatry. This we see angers our lord. Rightfully so. If you were to create a race of beings only to find that 99.999 % of them yurned for the "objects of this world" as instant gratification, instead of being disciplined patient servants at his attention, you'd probably start over too. The fallen angels had sex with women and their children were the Nephelim. These Giants devastated earth with violence. As Lori correctly states, angels take the form of men when they act as messengers, i.e. Book of Tobit (Archangel Raphael) or Book of Jude (Archangel Michael). Dr. Michael Heiser has probably done the most thorough work on this topic on who the “Sons of God” are, who the Nephilim were, and the nature of the Divine Council. Read his book “Unseen Realm”. Outstanding. Clear. Precise. Speaking from an unfeigned faith is a powerful thing. I would add that the offspring of fallen angels were giants. As Brother MacArthur says, it is hard to be dogmatically dogmatic, but, evidently, these fallen sons of God left their first estate and became men, not that they inhabited men. Women were something new as angels are all male. Besides being enticed by their beauty, they saw a way to perpetuate themselves and foul the seed of men, who they knew God loved very much. I don't think they expected the flood. They knew the consequences of leaving their first estate, wherein they were already demonic beings in the spirit realm, and that there was no turning back after making the transition to becoming flesh-and-blood men, which is why they are locked up in everlasting chains in darkness after dying in the flood and the other demons are not (not yet, anyway). This is pure conjecture, but perhaps they foresaw men being saved by the blood of Christ and thought they could qualify by becoming men to escape the everlasting judgment that they were already under for following Lucifer, which may be why Jesus preached to them after his death on the cross. He also became a man and left his first estate and was not under their judgment. That sermon probably was an explanation on why they couldn't cancel out their original judgment by becoming men and could not avail themselves of his blood after his resurrection and this is why they would continue to be confined in their prison until their final judgment. The references from Peter and Jude are, interesting enough, taken from the Book of Enoch. That book is not scripture, except for the parts taken by Peter and Jude in their epistles, but it is a fallible historical reference and does contain some interesting thoughts on the antediluvian world. All we really need to know, however, is what God gives in Genesis 6. That world perished in the flood and it is best to understand it existed and what happened but not to delve too deeply into it, just as we would not study the occult and expect any good thing to come of it. Brother MacArthur was wise on wanting to get through it and move on.

There is a difference between the Fallen Angels and Demons….Angels are capable of manifesting a body, unlike Demons (sons of the fallen angels or Nephilim) who must have a host to enter or possess someone to have a body…

I still love Dr. J Vernon McGhee’s super simple take on this. That the sons of God are those humans that believe and are faithful to Him and the daughters of men are from those who blaspheme and are haters of God. I really don’t think it has to get any deeper than that. Even if the men are demon possessed, demons are still spirit and do not produce ‘seed’.

Agreed. We have NO proof in the Bible that angels can produce offspring at all, much less with humans. And the only possible excuse from the actual Bible that the Sons of God could have been angels in Moses' writings is only derived from the book of Job. In the NT, genuine (and very human) believers are called "the sons of God" too (Luke 20; Gal. 3; Romans 8). Meanwhile, corrupt humanists have been trying to "improve" on God's designs, especially of humans, all throughout recorded history. "Ubermensch", concepts behind "Eugenics", 18thc French medical writings about 'human stud farms', modern discussions of the application of genetic manipulation, etc. The giants and mighty men in Gen. 6 could easily have been a result of human breeding efforts. And this explanation is much more easily defended logically and in accordance with fallen human nature - not to mention angelic/demonic nature - and historical record. I would argue that there is as much, and possibly more evidence for this argument in the Bible, mundane though it may be, than there is for the ancient fantasies about angelic romance.

When I was a small child the thought of death didn’t concur to me until at least age 9, and when it did it shocked me that one day I wasn’t going to exist anymore. It made me scared because I couldn’t understand not existing. I cried for a long time and couldn’t sleep until I asked my dad what happens after I die and he told me about god and that’s how I learned we officially had a god and a Jesus. I always knew god was there but I was not told, I wasn’t told what is purpose was and what he did or what my purpose was. And that we weren’t gonna die we were gonna go to sleep and live eternally. As you grow older you realize you don’t matter in the space of time, but as a kid full of innocence it’s almost natural and you aren’t thinking about it everyday. Your just always happy and free

Enoch contains unique material on the origins of demons and Nephilim, why some angels fell from heaven, an explanation of why the Genesis flood was morally necessary, and prophetic exposition of the thousand-year reign of the Messiah.

And for those who want to disclaim it, may I also humbly share that The Book of Enoch was considered as scripture in the Epistle of Barnabas (16:4) and by many of the early Church Fathers, such as Athenagoras, Clement of Alexandria, Irenaeus and Tertullian, who wrote c. 200 that the Book of Enoch had been rejected by the Jews because it contained prophecies pertaining to Christ.
