Showaddywaddy have always been very underrated.... very talented performers. This video is a great nostalgia blast.. although I get that regularly as they are in my vast 60's/70's/80's MP3 collection on my phone and they often randomly pop up... great driving sounds ... 😎

Music saved me from my childhood, 1978, 12 years old, I Wonder Why, Denis, Rivers of Babylon, Ca Plan Pour Moi, Take a Chance on Me, Loves Unkind, Baker Street, Wuthering Heights, Follow You Follow Me, If I Can’t Have You, Kiss You All Over, Run For Home, Hong Kong Garden. It was great to be a kid in the 70’s ! And Dave is right, I Wonder Why is hands down the best song of Showaddywaddy, and one of the best songs of 1978.

Thanks for the memories Dave. ♥️

This was the first band I was really into at around 11 years old. My mother was a big fan too. They were playing in London & asked my mum if we could go. She said I have to ask your Dad & he said no! To this day I haven't forgiven my dad for that & I'm not Joking! In my teens I became a Teddy Boy then a Rockabilly. And yes I went to School wearing a drape, creepers & bootlace tie. 57 years old now. Great times.

Under the moon of love was my favourite song! I would have been about 6 years old when it was in the the charts, I used to play it on my recorder 😁 Showaddywaddy were my favourite band back then and I loved the whole rock n roll revival of the 70s, such fun and didn't take itself too seriously, we also had Darts, Matchbox, Racey etc. Great memories of watching them all on top of the pops. ❤ 😊

Loved Showaddywaddy. Good to see Dave looking so well. 'Hey Rock and Roll' was the first song I heard aged 12 and was hooked thereafter. 'I wonder why' is probably may fav song by a very small margin over a lot of their others. It was always interesting on TOTP to see who would play different instruments on certain songs. I think this style of music will be timeless. Thanks for the music & memories Dave.

2019 emailed into my local radio station to say that band now had three original members with Dave Bartram as manager and were on tour with David Essex, Suzi Quatro and Les McEwan's Bay City Rollers. I obviously sent another email message to say that yes there would be definitely be more than two people on stage which the presenter read out with laughter. Really like 'Hey Mr Christmas' which in my opinion doesn't get played enough on the radio!
