loved it.. here is my feedback 1) it had that TOS feel 2) why a TNG klingon 3) The first captain needed some more aggression 4) Security should of been quicker ( i know it is story based but could of maybe done hostage situation) Still loving it and it is sooo much better than discovery.. you are doing amazing work.. so please don't take my feedback negatively.. i know you are working as hard as you can and we so much appreciate that

@@vampiric4real 1. It is a TOS Alternate universe project so thank you! 2. Its not a TNG Klingon, its a ridged head Klingon. After the augment virus affected several colonies to make smooth head Klingons, they were integrated back into the ridged head population. There are both types of Klingons in the TOS era, we just only saw smooth heads. :D

I’ve been watching Star Trek since since it’s debut on NBC in 1966. My all time favourite series. There’s a great hunger out there for the feel of the original series. The crap coming out of Hollywood just doesn’t make it. I just loved the fan series Star Trek continues. One thing that made it “feel” like the original series was including the original series music from numerous episodes. It was made it familiar and felt like home. Great job keep up the good work. Looking forward more. Thanks for making me feel young again.

I wouldn't mind an update in the style of Discovery's TOS visuals. the DSC 1701 was sexxxxxxxxxxxxxy. that ship and bridge, with the uniforms of Beyond (with the raised collar, without the undershirt).... that'd be a perfect blend towards the late TMP style with the white scheme and the dark uniforms of the refit.

@@bcn1gh7h4wk I love the Discovery Enterprise bridge as well. It actually looks like a starship, unlike the Apple store from the Kelvin Timeline. Definitely a high point of the series. Discovery is not perfect, but it's not as bad of a show as some say it is. I can't wait for Strange New Worlds. The problem was setting seasons 1 and 2 in the 23rd century. That time period is like sacred ground for the old Trekkies. Should have started in the late 24th or early 25th and _then_ jump to the 32nd century.

Ramirez was slumming it on Starbase 6 after relinquishing command of his last ship, USS Valiant. Commodore Austin assigned him to captain Excalibur as Captain Derek Mason was presumed killed in a shuttle explosion. There are plenty of "fan films" now that have professional quality visuals, acting and production values so that saying the "quality was good for a fan production" is really a back handed complement. Now that pro-equipment has become available to pretty much anyone, there is no reason why independent filmmakers can't look as good has studio productions.
@remaincalm2
@remaincalm2 4 жыл бұрын
@@NelsonStJames True, but it still takes a high level of skill to use the equipment and software properly and creatively. There's a massive learning curve to video production... Or a 3 year degree course for those who prefer that route of entry. But I know what you mean in that those who have the skills are able to create a production that matches studios without having to spend millions on equipment, sets, and big crews.

I'm just being perfectionistic, it was nicely done! Seamless FX, music (love the old & new), lighting, great casting. Great pacing, good story, costume, makeup, on and on! Professional job -- all around. I know you folks stated a long time ago that Avalon is in its own universe, but I still would have liked it more if the Excalibur crew had their own insignia. Just a minor irritation, nothing more. Qapla!

Your version of the constitution class ship looks great. In fact, this video was very good, the fx and acting were sensational. Great job, I look forward to more from Avalon. Gene would be proud!

Excellent effort here, guys. Just leave Trek in the hands of the fans who have this level of commitment to the vision and we'll have many more quality treks to look forward to. Thanks again.

It's pretty well known by now that 'Asteroid fields' aren't the frightening obstacle courses as depicted in Empire Strikes Back. There's vast amounts of space between such astroids. So there's plenty of room to avoid them. You'll have to build a tech excuse to have such an anomaly. Say a graviton tear in the fabric of space is pulling astroids on a circular path or something like that. Call it an astroid causeway, or an astroid populated graviton stream perhaps.

Great work to everyone on the cast and crew. This still feels like Star Trek without completely going off course and 180 in design, like a certain CBS show. Just had a plot hole question: How did that device and the former XO's log manage to stay unnoticed in the Excalibur, while it was undergoing repairs and refits after the M5 incident? Especially given that Victoria's character was in his quarters with a tricorder, in what appears to be a recovery team even earlier.

Ehh, I still prefer the certain CBS show. Seeing the aesthetic is nice but this feels kinda hokey especially with the acting.

@@Warhammered Since they were in a relationship maybe she kept it a secret and worked on it herself. Why would she keep it a secret is a good question. Why would the CO of the Excalibur agree to participate in a war game without reporting the artifact first if it was so potentially important is another.

@@Vipre- Great points. It's a hindsight for who(m)ever wrote that plot in the story, to think about. I hope.

Pretty good. Much better than most fan films ,better acted, character development and good production values. I like how they updated the displays to have floating holoscreens. A good updating of TOS and keeping to the spirit of TOS

Thanks! i did all thr space VFX although this is not the phase 2 version...were custom visually updating the 1960s connie in our own way (as this is a new universe). Episode 1 had all the new glows...episode 2 had the phaser ball turrets and main torprdo launcher...episode 3 will have more! :D
