Darkstalkers as a franchise has always shined with wild animation among some of the best for the system Capcom used for it in arcades. Plus such a wild roster of characters to boot!

@@thenegromancer4695 be as it may one thing follows the other sadly, unless some good studio /company with zero fucks to give goes in charge of a DS game(which I doubt capcom will let it go that esaily) is better to leave relics of the past where they have been, look at what happened to vampire the masquerade bloodlines 2 (I know this isn't a Japanese game but is a good example of what is going on with certain types in the gaming industry, also like your name 😁).

The Saturn port for Night Warriors was so amazing. I am glad it launched in the West, unlike many other Capcom 2D Saturn games :(

I'll never forget the first time I saw this game at a pizza joint in California, I could be wrong but I'm fairly certain it was back before SNES was even a thing. I just remember thinking how Amazing the entire game looked and how much more animated the characters seemed to be compared to pretty much every other arcade game let alone fighting game. We were usually kinda broke so I never really got to play it as much as I would've liked, basically I would just stand there watching the attract screen while still getting a little pumped up even though I knew I wasn't gonna be playing and the content would just be repeating shortly. The supers and specials are Awesome, the famous monster related designs are all great and even the more original looking fighters are some of the best ever. 😄👍

SNES came out in ‘91 in America I think. Darkstalkers came out in ‘94.

My favorite fighting game ever, everthing is so nostalgic, the voice actors, even the "get ready, fight" guy. It would be amazing having a new game with Guilty Gear graphics, but if Capcom eventually do it someday it's probably look bland like SF4 and 5.

DS created that idea in first place. It also created personal base mechanics, like one char has a common dash, another one teleports, another one flies, another one floats, another one hops... It created the base used and expanded by games like GG. It also created chain/free normal combos, ex moves and otg attacks (a special attack with a particular input, not just hitting anyone like in Marvel).

It's funny because they both look the same and cost meter when activated, not sure why. That's why I wanted to double check with you since there might have been some that was left out. DS1-2 (and MSH+XvSF) drained all of Capcom's creative energy, so almost nothing was left to give to SF. These games make SF games (except SF3) look like they were made much earlier... Because everything looks so much sophisticated and polished, the ideas of gameplay style, presentation, attention to details, etc. And that was just 95.
