Demonstration: How to Use Purl Strings

I demonstrate transferring live stitches on a shawl onto a Purl String, and talk about their potential uses. Shawl is Laurel, by Jen Peck, in Hudson + West Weld.

Now that I see how to use them, game changer. Thinking I will be using these instead of placing on waste yarn, such as sleeves for a sweater I am working on

I'm so glad I bought mine at Yarn Folk when I stopped in! I let many know about the helpful tool, Including a LYS in Seattle. A word of advice: try a short segment of your yarn to see how it slides onto the string. I used Dapple by Brooklyn Tweed. Tried transfer of stitches from a smaller solid cable to a larger interchangeable cable and needle. I was also on a size 3 needle. I think the cotton blend was too " grabby" and the needle too small. Thanks Ann for having the best notions for knitters.

I would say yes, as long as you’re not a super tight knitter!
