I've had GTA Plus on my low level grinding account for months now, and it's nice. It's not perfect, but it's nice. As a beginner when it comes to grinding GTA Plus is pretty useful to me. It's not a pay to win thing. It's just a way to make money a bit faster, which can be helpful if you're a beginner. GTA Online has a lot of issues but GTA plus isn't one of them. As long as R* doesn't add anything in the game that would actually give an advantage to a GTA Plus member in a player vs player scenario then there is no issue lol I don't understand why so many people are so hostile towards it. Like I get it if you have a modded account with modded money or hundreds of glitched deluxos to sell or if you already have all your businesses set up and billions of dollars you don't need GTA Plus. But if you're a beginner who started to play recently and you got the game for like 20 dollars where is the harm in getting 2 or 3 months with GTA Plus ? It will be helpful to grind a bit faster and it doesn't cost an arm

It's moreso about the principle, which Pro is 100% right about. We shouldn't pay a subscription service in a game that's already paid for with heavy monetization already. No game should, if the game is already super expensive and has microtransactions, a monthly fee feels like an extra slap in the face every month. The only way a subscription service would be acceptable, i think, would be if the game was free-to-play from the start.

@Awesome ARod That only further proves the point though. Anyone playing on console is already having to pay for online connectivity, which is itself a scam too. PC players never have to pay just to connect to a game's servers, and on PS3 as well online was free as long as you had a PSN account. The point is that NO ONE should have to pay up the ass just to join a game. The idea of DLC is acceptable because, like for the game itself, you only pay for it once and it's usually for a fraction of the price. It also expands the game's lifespan because you get even more content that you can partake in. It also doesn't help that since people are already paying subscriptions for completely unrelated stuff like streaming services, ON TOP of the recent spikes of inflation. To try and convince us to pay yet another subscription fee for something like GTA+ is extremely tone deaf. I get that it's good for new players and all, but that's also R*'s fault for not future-proofing updates and making them in a way that's more intuitive. Some of the stuff in-game is incredibly complex, and to people just now getting in it can seem like even if they did have the money they'd never figure out what goes where. Overall, it may be "worth the money", but at a time like this when everything is getting more and more expensive, the last thing I want is another thing to have to pay for every month. Worth it or not, it's still scummy.

Tbh I play gta 5 on the og ps4 still and don't see me complaining I have over 53 or 55mill legit at rank 1055 and just last week or the week before the apartment heists and setups and even the Bogdan heist all had a 50% increase so for example instead of getting 1.5 or 1.6 mill from the Bogdan with the eletchallenge we got over 2.6mill roughly with the eletchallenge so it wasn't just for next Gen old Gen had as well ...but only lasted a week till weekly update came around but one thing we haven't gotten in months is 2x money on Mc business an 2x money an rp on ceo business like bunker an ceo crates etc

My problem with GTA plus is the fact they don't fix straight up glitches and unfun mechanics or vehicles but will be perfectly happy to take your money. God mode, bst, or spam, flaming rounds, explosive rounds, jets, first person etc are still in the game and still broken and or unfun.

this argument doesnt hold water. he was upset because red dead had barely gotten any of the amount of content GTA had gotten in a similar span of time, and when players began begging for more stuff to do, they stayed quiet for over a year, then suddenly declared they wouldnt even bother. i played both RDO and GTA, and hearing the news of this upset me too, even though i dont play it much i still sympathize with people who had high hopes for it. its not fair to RDO players that they got nothing but radio silence for well over a year only to get news that it was over. at the very least, i think they deserved a sooner confirmation so that they could have time to grieve and move on to another game. also, im sorry, but literally contact missions and freemode activities can net you about 500k in like a few hours total. to say that people dont have time to grind isnt exactly false, but its not the full truth. its not hard anymore to MAKE time for it, even assuming you're a complete noob and have to start from scratch, as long as youre patient there are plenty of ways to make money and put it into stuff that will help you. i even made a second character since the criminal enterprises update because i could finally start from scratch without tearing my hair out.

I’m new to this debate but I’m going to state my views on the matter from what I’ve seen/heard. Yes, it’s scummy, most corporations are scummy and will do anything for a quick buck, but look at it like this: If I was paying a subscription why should people who aren’t be entitled to get the same thing I’m paying for. He’s arguing the point that Professional said that GTA+ was a scam as you didn’t get much for paying a subscription and now he’s arguing that it’s bad because people are getting more with it. From what I’ve watched Dempy has said in other vids GTA+ is a good boost in the long run but if you really don’t want it, don’t get it, no one is stopping you. GTA+ is (in my opinion) for newcomers with a bit of disposable income to get a few perks like cars, businesses and services to get them going until they have all the necessary components to start making money efficiently, and the fact it’s only £5/month for multiple benefits whilst other companies charge twice for less or cosmetics is better than most companies out there. What I’ve read from comments (and tbh, annoys me a bit) is that people are complaining that Dempy is critiquing TheProfessionals opinion on the matter, whilst providing *his* opinion on it (which is how arguments work btw), but are critiquing his opinion on the subject make you the same what you claim him to be. All I’m going to say is view both sides and remain neutral. Buy it if you want, don’t of you can live without it. An argument requires two sides and Professional is arguing against and Dempy is arguing for. If you think he’s in the wrong don’t stoop down to his level and vice versa. But, I agree and empathise when people say it’s a scummy little cash grab targeted new players to catch up to higher levels but it’s their money to spend after all. Just like everything it has pros and cons, the cons being on the ethical side rather than the mechanical which is what Dempy was arguing. But hey I’m new to this subject so I got a bit more digging to do.

I feel like the reason why many people are upset with GTA+ is because it doesn’t really give any incentive for high levels to get it. I believe that it was added too late into the game, as many players are already established and rich. If this subscription was added 10 years ago, I don’t think it would’ve received so much backlash from the fan base. However there are still many new players on the game and if they want an effective kickstart, I would agree that it would be worth it for them.

The problem is with R* priorities, you have a Triple A company who have a game mode (GTA Online) that is so subpar in quality e.g. cheaters, hackers, modders, bugs that have been present since release, a shite and predatory virtual economy, tedious mission design and that's not even mentioning the absolute hell hole that is the PC version of GTAO. Yet of course GTA+ gets top priority. People would be more accepting of GTA+ if they actually had a quality game to use it for. And yes if any game out there is "pay to win" it is most definitely GTAO.

I fully agree. There’s no reason to complain about GTA+ getting better stuff because you’re paying a bit of money every month to get better stuff or exclusive stuff. That’s not being dishonest, that’s called being a company that makes videogames. Nearly every videogame and ESPECIALLY free games have some sort of way they can make money from a subscription of sorts. Yes GTA does cost $60 but now Online is sold separately and is cheaper. So in total it makes sense why R* made GTA+
