I don´t know how this sounds to people who do not speak norwegian, but I think Kari Bremnes has one of the best singing styles in Norway. Her voice is full of soul and her delivery is perfect storytelling. Each word has impact and meaning. Always calming. 👍

Kari Bremnes is as much a poet as she is a singer/songwriter . Her ability to catch a mood and a moment in time is unik. On the cd ‘Norwegian Moods’ she has translated some of her songs into English.

Kari is from the north part of Norway - and is using a very typical dialect from Lofoten (the islands on the coast of Nordland county).

My favorite Kari Bremnes song is "Hurtigrute" Kari grew up in a rural town on the cost of Northern Norway, and this song is about when the boat that traveled the Norwegian coastline would come in with people and goods as a connection to the outside world. This version she sing alongside her two brothers, Lars and Ola kzbin.info/www/bejne/sHjOf4KDfLemg9U

Kari wrote this song about the covid pandemic and how it effected our society and the changes it made for all people around the world.

Hi there, and much thanx for an easy going and fun channel, i really love it🌞👏👍❤️ This Norwegian artist is a national gem, she both looks and sounds like a goddess despite her being at the age of 67, she's still one of the most recognized and respected vocal voices up her in the cold north of the world, Norway. I would like to recommend her most famous, and also the best, song she has in her catalogue; * Kari Bremnes - E du Nord? This song has become like an anthem for Norwegians coming from the northern parts of Norway but who lives in the south parts of Norway, and the song is about us people longing home to where we come from, to where our roots are, our family and friends live, where we grew up and our hearts is. Hope you enjoy... - and if so, i may have a few more gems for you down the line 🌞👍 Best regards Thomas Eidsaune from Norway (of course)☺️👍

It's basically about how covid has changed the way we live as far as I can tell.

Congratulations on 50k! :) Lovely song, and it doesn’t really matter what it’s about, but… spoilers? “So the great silence set in Spread itself all over this spring Laid across the land like a veil Nothing is as it was before …miss giving my mom a hug”

Really beautiful song. Doesn't matter if you can understand it or not. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Good one guys

well.... "....it doesn't matter...." only as long as you don't understand the language. If you did understand you would probably say something else.... ....this is not just singing for entertaining someone. Kari is a unique artist with her poetry.. ....it is music with a content .....and "chemically" free of commerialism. She also sing in dialect ...and has done so for over 40 year in her carriere. She did that long before it was accepted in the music industry in Norway. She is from Svolvær in Lofoten in the Arctic of Norway.

@@xpost9381 To enjoy the music, you don't have to understand the lyrics, but if you do understand the lyrics, the song might touch you even more. This is at least my personal experience as regards Kari Bremnes in general and her album "Svarta Bjørn" in particular. I think it is safe to say the she is the reason why I eventually started learning Norwegian properly (though she was not the first artist I ever heard - and liked - singing in Norwegian).
