My guess is she’d done it countless times and was used to the sting from it. Still makes me wince lol.

@TheHorseyGymnast Her "normal" coach wasn't able to make it to this competition and she was really upset and crying beforehand as she felt that she's "mentally weak" without him with her. I guess the replacement coaches placed extra attention on her so she feels more secure during the competition :)

Deng Linlin (CHN) deserves to win his gold medal because his routine is almost perfect and she was not doing much error and I really love her but comply during it's good, it 's win gold medal , I love beucoup , she trained a lot and now all pay.

Actually, this should have been second. Connections were given that shouldn’t have been and multiple bobbles- far more than second place had.

her coach seems really nice, not like some rougher coaches from other places. You can see he's delighted with her performance and is teasing her at the end. BTW, her sharpness is enough artistry. It keeps you on your toes.

Her main coach was not with her at worlds. :) Apparently, they only allowed two coaches per team or something.

eastrun I completely agree with you. Deng had many readjustments and balance checks which should have warranted greater deductions. Mitchell’s routine was substantially more artistic and unique. I’m generally in awe of the Chinese gymnasts on beam and this was good, but I feel it deserved the silver medal.

Im not the only one who felt that way, good. It was a good routine but just too many balance checks. Just like Beijing where they were gifted some really questionable scores.
