Deni Avdija is one of the worst shooters in the league... but he could be the future of the Wizards

He started this season (6 first games), 50% from 3, 14 ppg and very consistent, let's hope he keeps it up.

Yeah he’s been awesome so far, working on a follow up Wizards video as we speak

Spot on. Too many players in this league can't guard. If he improves his 3pt game, he'll be in good shape.

This aged extremely well, he’s exactly what you wished he would put up.

we are now 1 month after this vid. I guess you are no longer excited with Jordan pool. currently it seems Deni is much more stable and aggressive while actually pool is holding them back. As a Israeli , I will suggest you a more suitable player to compare Deni to , and maybe it will help you understand Deni better: Hedo Turkoglu. Deni is a much better defender , and BTW a much better Shot blocker than he actually try , I guess this is due to his issue with fouls. one thing need to be said in favour of Deni , He still doesnt get any respect from the refs not just by calling very cheep fouls on him, but Also on offense when he gets fouled a lot going into the basket and no calls. I really hope this year Deni will be more stable on shooting the ball, I can thell you there is no issue with his handles. in practice he can automatically score three's with no issues, the issue has always been mental since his youth. when he started in Maccabi you could see him getting very frustrated about getting cheep calls for fouls or missing shot and getting to upset , you could see it on the court. he is still maturing , he is only 22 and for many years already the best prospect out of Israel, thats a lot of pressure. I think this year he looks much better. I think hie ceiling is way way up, when he will gain more confidence and continue to mature up mentally - I think he will by much much harder to stop while performing very well on defense. He will be an asset any team will want. I would really want to see him in a team and a system that actually know how to work with players like him and have a tradition of success , I think it would get much more progress out of him as he is the hardest worker you will ever meet.

The best player in the team, not the most talented, but always tries to do the RIGHT play

I followed deni for a couple of years even before he got drafted he’s a good player, he is improving his 3 point and he’s d I elite. If he gets his 3 point better he’ll be a good 3 and d player with even more options on offense

Yeah, it might be a small sample size, but he’s low key been the Wizards most effective player this year so far with his improved efficiency. And he’s the only player who plays significant minutes that has a positive box plus minus, which is impressive on a team that’s been pretty bad so far. Id like to see what he can do with closer to 30 minutes a game

Calling deni 3&D is an insult to him.

@quintupleovertime7 ай бұрын
Not really, i said he could be a top tier role player if he can improve his shooting ability. The kinda guy you’d want as your 4th option on a good team. And who knows maybe he could be better than that, or maybe he’s peaked and it’s all down hill from here, you never know for sure in the NBA

Hes officially a role player. Notihing more.
