Hi Denis. I really like the subject matter that you are addressing here. So important. I think a lot of people are willing to pay teachers, schools, etc... in the hope that they will be imbued with knowledge by mere association---as if proximity to a great teacher or player is enough to guarantee a transmission of knowledge. My view is that the foundation of successful learning is a sense of 'wonder' on the part of the student. The student will be his own teacher if he 'wonders' at everything in the pursuit of knowledge. But 'wonder' is not idle--it requires action, that is, practice. Alongside this, a critical capacity for constructive self-critique is crucial as well. And self-critique is a skill too! We get better at it and more refined as we delve deeper into a subject. Alas, so much more to say on the subject. In any case, I appreciate your musings on this topic. Always enlightening.
