Do you find yourself trying to find a distraction when going through something difficult? 💛
@amayah43912 жыл бұрын
I’m trying to use distraction less, especially for my anxiety and panic attacks. It provides short term relief but you really have to go through the motions to really move on from something. Everything I tried to suppress would always come out sometime somewhere and often when things were going well! X

I fell onto these podcasts trying to find a review for Will Young's book and this is the second one I have watched straight through in three days. I guess you could say these are my distraction at the moment and so much better than some of the more destructive distractions I have had in the past and they offer me hope, so thank you. I didn't expect to relate to Denise but we have both had similar ways of dealing with things and after decades of needing therapy and being diagnosed as having an urgent need in both 2009 and 2013 think it's the way to go...

Fab interview. Just a wee note on microphone and camera position, Den's mike blocks the view of her mouth which makes it difficult for people with hearing impairment and lip read. 💋

Thank you for this lovely chat and discussion. I'm currently going through family heartbreak and felt less alone hearing this. The physical pain I've been experiencing has floored me, it's relentless.

Great interview! Just wish Denise’s microphone wasn’t obscuring her face quite so much.

As a single guy at 43 working abroad 67% of the year I relate totally on all the aspects of life covered by your fantastic podcast. Thank you especially right now for delivering such a relevant educational but enjoyable chat which I can see gives perhaps support to all around to those who might not necessarily through one thing or another are unable to have these type of conversations with friends /family or anyone. Great job and am pleased for you Ferne finding a real niche in the market and a platform of which is healthy for you to express your personality and establish career stability without direction from a tv influence. 👍😊

A thought provoking interview - thank you - I wanted to move the microphone off Denise's face though to be honest x

Learning of Bertrand Russell he buried himself in studies. A quote from John Dewey was “We do not learn from experience... we learn from reflecting on experience.”

I think keeping ourselves busy to distract us from our pain , doesn’t heal the pain . It’s like a form of medication and as we know medication doesn’t always help with emotional pain and eventually have to face it and if we don’t face it we end up either suffering further with depression,anxiety then heading to the doctors for medicinal treatment.

Or maybe the men can’t keep her! She has been set high standards by her parents and I’m sure doesn’t tolerate certain behaviours.
