Can I offer a sock hack that works wonders? Give every kid (and every grownup) a mesh wash bag for socks. For kids you can say it’s because the socks like to hangout and party together in the wash 😂😉. When dirty socks get taken off they immediately go into the bag (can be on the floor of a closet, hung on a peg in a closet or even hung on a peg low down on the wall for kiddos). Then everyone’s socks stay together while washing AND drying. No more fallen sock soldiers!

I have 4 boys (9,6,3,&9months), and I just recently started separating laundry by person.... This has made ALL the difference! I realized I spent so much time sorting the clothes. More laundry loads, but its much more efficient when folding and putting away. Each person has one towel that gets washed once a week with their clothes, and besides my husband and I, the kids bedding usually fits in with their laundry load too. Just a thought. 4 kiddos really tipped the "overwhelmed" feeling for me, and I have several years between them. I'd imagine 4 under 4 would be quite the experience :) .

I really enjoyed this video. I am one of those who think that I need to get so much done in a day, but this is impossible for me. I have major depression so there are days when it is only possible to get the basics done. On other days, the rare ones, I am able to vacuum most of the house and feel good about it. I am fortunate that my husband and I pick up after ourselves. It is mostly the dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping that are my problems areas. Despite my difficulties, I am grateful for what I can do. Thank you for the encouragement & knowledge that everything does not have to be done in a day. This video means a lot to me. It helps me with my depression. I now know that I can let go of the high expectations I have of myself. Thank you for what you have taught me. Sending you a virtual hug.

I live in an apartment, so dragging quarters and my laundry out of my place and down to the laundry room is the worst. I'll put it off forever. 100% of my socks are identical. 10/10 would recommend. I never fold or match them either, since they are all the same I just dump them into the sock drawer and randomly pull out two.

Hi Denise. I agree with you about the laundry that putting it away is the part I dislike the most, I might be weird but folding is my zen time and I just can't help smelling it and enjoying the fact I got it done and now there's just one more step to be done, the dreaded putting it away 😖. Right now I'm trying to deal with the fact I can't get my windows clean. The inside isn't a problem it's the outside. I live in Wyoming and it has been below freezing for a couple months straight. I had planned on doing another cleaning before winter set in (a late fall cleaning) but the snow and freezing temperatures had another idea. I usually try and do a rainex treatment late summer/ early to mid fall so they stay somewhat clean during winter but that didn't happen. I definitely know now why I started doing it 😂 Have a great week! Can't wait to see the updates on the master bath/ closet!

I love everything about laundry! I wash my socks in mesh laundry bags -- everyone who takes their socks off puts them straight into the bag in the hamper and no socks are ever lonely after washing. As for which rooms needs attention... We rearranged our bedroom to make room for our cot because we're expecting a baby. Then went on to declutter the hall storage closet and some other bits, and now the space intended for the cot is taken up by stuff that needs to be either donated or taken to the recycling centre. So waiting for the lockdown to end (I live in Scotland) to get all of that out of the bedroom.

It's Sunday and the Wonderful World of Denise and John. I don't enjoy laundry and it has a habit of living in my dryer. I add a new wet load to work out the wrinkles all the time. It then ends up stacked on a shelf in my closet because I need to declutter the drawers...Sigh. I did laugh at your Vanna White moment in the linen closet. 😄 I think your main rooms and the downstairs looked pretty darn good for having two busy girls and the twins. Everything is light, fresh and airy looking. Looking forward to the master bath/closet. Just know it will be beautiful.

Put the socks IN PAIRS in net bags, like those for delicates or even produce. Zip them up and there is no way they can escape. I only use cloth bags for shopping and ordered lot of the produce bags from Amazon. I use some of them for laundry. Not so many socks anymore but using them keeps me from putting delicates in the dryer.

The missing sock dilemma figured out. Our drier repair man told me that rubber seal on the drier around the drum and the opening, sometimes socks get sucked into it & if you ever have your drum removed or the bottom of the drier taken off you will find those socks. I couldn't believe how many we had in the bottom of our drier. Ive had the same drier for 27 years & it was FULL LOL The fix is get a zipper mess bag and put all the socks in there before drying. I haven't lost one since I started doing it this way. Hope this helps. Hugs ~Samantha
