Denise, I’ve been watching your videos for quite awhile now. I don’t usually leave comments because for a variety of reasons that’s just now how I am. But I do finally feel compelled to offer one here because this is yet another example in a long line of videos that demonstrate how exceptionally caring and thorough you are to help give insight, advice, assistance, guidance-both logistically and emotionally. I can’t imagine having researched wigs and wig wearing without your input. You are a treasure, Denise.

Hi Denise, first I want to say thank you for all the hard work you do in helping all the wig sisters educate themselves. I have followed you for years in my own wig journey. Then came the time you started with videos on 100% human hair wigs. I watched them all. I reached out to 1 or 2 manufacturers but then found Brittany. Working with her has been amazing. I ordered "Elizabeth". I was so happy with the quality and the overall experience that I ordered 2 more. Thank you again for doing all the hard work for us! You're amazing! ❤

I had never heard of a lace frontal, and, though I have heard of lace closures, I had no idea what that term meant! I didn't know that some wigs don't have ear tabs! I learned so much! Though, sadly, this option is beyond my means, I think it's stunningly beautiful and very natural looking and really appreciate Brittany's kindness in trying to keep her pieces more affordable, even if, unfortunately, I can't personally afford them; hopefully, many other people can and her business thrives!!!.

I am same petite 21” cir. and feels same with one exception - I would love full front lace to have ear tabs. But I can’t find mentioned criteria AND ear tabs. No ear tabs are so challenging for me. I have to but a bobby pin over my ear to keep it in place. I don’t have enough bio hair to pull out, but I do have some grow out from chemo. and it does grow far out and about inch and half long now. Glue/tape doesn’t work. So I’m in between. It would be perfect with the ear tabs for me.

Most human hair used for wigs starts as black hair. It doesn’t matter how pretty the blonde looks, the hair has been bleached a lot, which makes the hair even more fragile than bio black hair that’s been bleached, because it’s “dead hair.” I have shied away from human hair wigs; because the bleached hair doesn’t seem to retain its color. It turns orangey; strands break. I’m not a person who overstyles my wigs, or wears them for more than 8 hours. I’m a cool blonde, naturally, and it’s frustrating to see the wigs I pay the most for, turn orange or warm within 8 weeks. I am a Stage IV cancer patient and will be bald for the rest of my life. I’m not criticizing manufacturers. I’m wondering if there’s any thing I can do to make a blonde human hair wig last longer. I prefer the shading of blonde synthetic wigs, even though some brands have only 2-3 terrible blonde shades. Jon Renau or Raquel Welch have great blonde shades. Brushed Hair Wigs has amazing prices. I will take a look. Thanks for reviewing, and I’ll be waiting for those wigs with ear tabs.
@heywigsister
@heywigsister Жыл бұрын
I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. Color is DEFINITELY a challenge with human hair wigs. This is one of the benefits of synthetic, though very few brands make natural looking rooted blondes, as you noted. Unfortunately, the oxidation and color change is a part of wearing a wig. BUT, it isn't unique to wigs. Women who get their hair colored have to go get it refreshed regularly if they want it to continue to look the same... it also fades and oxidizes over time. The difference is that wigs cost a fortune (human hair especially) so the pain of this is exponentially higher. I've watched videos with a lot of colorists and some of the recommendations I've seen are to protect the hair from sunlight as much as possible (if I am going to be outside a lot I will either wear one of my hat wigs, a headband wig, or a synthetic), use a UV protectant on the hair, limit how often you wash it, and use a purple shampoo on the blondes regularly. There is no way around it, though, they will change color and then your option is to have it recolored or toned. And you are right, the blondes have it much worse because of the major processing the hair goes through. I was so shocked by how wonderful the hair on this one felt given it is a pretty light blonde. She did a wonderful job!
@mcuykendall

Take a look at Belle Tress blondes, especially the rooted…that’s all I have bc the colors r so dimensional and natural looking. I’m afraid to branch out and try anything else 🥴which is really dumb, but now that I’ve dialed things in, I hate to mess with the formula.

How do you get the lace to stay down. It buckles if not glued. Like you said - No tension it just sits there like if it was set on your wig stand, right? I have one of these wigs and have to pull a piece of wig hair in front of ear and tuck some behind my ear to make like an upside down “U” over my ear and bobby pin it there. But doesn’t stay very well and hurts my ear. Even with you blending your bio hair - how do you get it to lay flat and even stay in place for that matter? I would love to know an easier way 🙏

Hi! I did a review of a full lace wig from Superhairpieces that can be attached for longer periods, I don't recommend 6 weeks as that is a long time to have a wig glued to your scalp... from my research it seems that it isn't recommended to attach a wig for more than a few weeks. How long it will stay will also depend on your skin and how much you sweat or how oily your skin is as well. Here is that review: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oKLCeH2MhbGlrc0si=OMcb1cfzivJ2ImO4

There is so much to learn!!! Most of the hair comes from Chinese hair vendors.... sometimes Pakistan or India, but the vast majority is from China... that doesn't mean the hair is always Chinese, but they have basically captured the wig market like so many other things. Sometimes the wig is purchased with the hair already on the wig cap, and then they just color and cut it... sometimes they purchased the cap from one vendor, and hair wefts from another and make the wig themselves (which I believe is what Brittany does)... there are so many ways this is done it is crazy!!

Those straps - I often find they are not sewn in the right spot and personally I prefer to put it in myself vs having it pre installed, but most of the time it isn't an option - either it comes with one in a standard spot or it's not included. And not having bio hair I wish they would let me option out of the combs. They don't bother me when I wear a wig but the hair can get caught in them on longer styles so I usually just cut them out. It isn't a big deal, not at all, but I don't like undoing someone else's work because for every person like me the person who sews them in could have saved a lot of time if we're all added up LOLOL

Those are REALLY good points! For small retailers like Brushed Hair, I am 100% positive that you could make those requests and she would honor them. For larger retailers, or budget ones who have wigs in stock that are not made to order, I think it might be tougher to make those requests. That is one reason I love some of these small boutique retailers. They can often do a lot of special requests items for people.

I find it very comfortable. I've had a lace frontal before (more than one). Based on those I thought I did not like them because they are always so loose on me, and I have to adhere the sides because I like to tuck and/or style my wigs. When I found out that was all she carried I was a bit disappointed because I figured it would be a piece I would be able to review but wouldn't really wear (because I prefer closures)... but without ear tabs I absolutely LOVE it!! Gosh, it makes such a difference for me. I love that I don't have to adhere the sides at all! If I hadn't cut it too short I wouldn't have to adhere the front either, but since all I need is just a tiny bit of something to stick the very front down it is no big deal.

I don’t have this brand. But I have noticed I’m getting a rash around my natural hairline that I can only assume is from the lace or cap material that is rubbing my skin. Any suggestions on how to prevent the raised bumps? I’m having this issue with high quality synthetic wigs.
@heywigsister
@heywigsister Жыл бұрын
Hi! You know, not all lace is created the same, and even synthetic fibers can vary. You might want to do some experimenting to see if you can narrow it down to what may be causing it. For example, I know someone who is allergic to Estetica lace fronts. She can wear other brands just fine, but not Estetica. I have heard from a few other women who are allergic to synthetic fibers.... they can only wear human hair. The lace on this wig and many other human hair wigs is much different than the high quality synthetic wigs... it is softer and more flexible. You often find this soft flexible lace on super budget friendly wigs as well. One thing you could try is adhering the lace to your hairline and see if keeping it from moving around helps. That is what I used to do all the time when I was having trouble with wigs being itchy (buzzing my hair fixed that)... It Stays is one of the easiest adhesives to use and remove, here is a video on how to use it: kzbin.info/www/bejne/epS6gpSioJWZhqs I just put out a video TODAY with another great adhesive product, here is a link to that: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b3fMkIilebCde9k If that doesn't work, then I think you might need to try some different brands with different lace to see if it is the lace or the fibers, or what it might be.

Here are two articles that demonstrate that it is impossible to get one answer on this: ankahair.com/things-you-need-to-know-about-brazilian-hair/ www.lolasilk.co.za/blogs/lola-blog/10-things-you-need-to-know-about-brazilian-hair

While I love the pieces, these are very cost prohibitive for most people especially in these times. It is like shopping at Bloomingdale’s or Nordstrom on a Walmart budget.

Thank you so much! I have been working very very hard on my health the past few months. I cut out sugar, alcohol, starchy carbs, snacks, and have been eating super clean and healthy, and started to exercise again a few weeks ago. My chronic pain isn't gone, but so much better... my inflammation has gone down some (I can really tell in my face), and my energy has increased. I truly had to hit rock bottom to be able to commit to this, and it has been hard, but so worth it!
