Cem Karaca is a truly interesting artist. He wrote many beautiful songs and because of political pressure in Turkey in the 1970s, he was exiled to Germany. He stayed there for 8 years and during that time he struggled from homesickness towards his motherland and couldn’t even attend his father’s funeral during his exile. In 1987, he finally returned home and died in 2004 at 58 years old from heart failure.
