Basso always looks back and sideways at other people's work that he admires but is ill equipped to look ahead with design newness, hence shows that traditionally are largely of reinterpretations which makes him more of a curator of pretty clothes rather than an innovative designer of solidly original creative work.....and it works for him.

This is classic sophisticated American sportswear look - moderately minimalist, classic shapes, feminine, rich fabrics, beautifully made, nothing radical, a more safe less innovative version of Oscar, Carolina, more mature non sporty version of Kors, there is a market for this. Susan Lucci, I thought she was Jane Seymour.
