Do you notice any differences in performance in Audio Gridder compared to VEPro? It seems VEPro cannot really utilize dual CPU mainboards.

Great video Please explain how you connect between the mac and pc, Its not working with me and i couldn’t find online how to do it. Thank you

Really useful. Thank you! I have an old pc with 32gb mem just sitting doing nothing. I was going to turn it into a Linux NAS but Windows is still on there so this will be a much better option. 😊🙏X

It works with plugins too? I mean Eqs reverbs etc.

Yes, it works with Eqs and reverbs, too.

I've tried Audiogridder a while ago between 2 macs (my main one and a spare one connected thru ethernet) and I was not so convinced compared to the VEP demo I got. Maybe I could do an other test. Today when I'm short on CPU and I realy want to run plugin instruments or effects on a remote machine I use an instance of Logic on each Mac with the AUnetSend and AUnetRecieve plugins. Works quite well (screen sharing, Audio/MIDI configuration, etc... you get the idea). I presume there's the equivalent in Cubase or any major DAW.

Initially, Audiogridder didn't impress me due to the excessive loading times and playback issues I encountered; however, after restricting my setup to the BBC orchestra plugin as the only VST on my server computer, I noticed a significant enhancement in both smoothness and stability of performance.

@@dennidorf I see. However the purpose of such system is not to resctrict our system but to expand it 😀

Hi Dennis, great Video - thank you! When I tried audio grinder, "render in place" in cubase didn't work (although it does work with VE-Pro). Does it work for you?
@dennidorf7 ай бұрын
I tested the 'render in place' feature within my setup, and it works as expected.

You can also use Vienna Ensemble on instrument tracks;) It will be just be a little less efficient as when using a few instances.
@dennidorf7 ай бұрын
Ok, fair ;). But you will encounter interruptions or "jumps" when switching between different Vienna ensemble tracks. And it is indeed extremely inefficient.
@soulscape50832 ай бұрын
I don't understand. You can make it as an instr track and create midi tracks that output to that Vienna Ens. ?

Ability to control the UI aside, how do these options compare to simply using the 2nd computer as a it was an external piece of hardware. Send audio to it over the network via e.g. AVB/Madi/Dante and then back to the main computer for summing. Using e.g. Apple Remote Desktop to control the plugin settings? Not as convenient, but I've got a feeling this would be better for latency and compatibility / stability.

Do u use 10 gbE switches or the standard one
@dennidorf3 ай бұрын
What do you mean?
@newtension3 ай бұрын
@@dennidorf I’m asking if you use a 10 gigabit Ethernet switch for your network between the Mac and the PC or just a standard 2.5 gigabit or whatever it maybe?
@tam_ryan10363 ай бұрын
@@newtension I was hoping it might be possible to connect the server directly with a cat6 cable but I know this is not the standard.
