I got to drive a Pantera GTS as a 19yo mechanic, my boss at the time (the owner) came to me and said it was running short of power and struggled to top 110mph. It was running 7 cylinders and I found it had worn a pushrod right through the rocker. At the time, American stuff was quite expensive here in New Zealand so I got a used rocker and pushrod, modded all of the pushrods for better oil delivery to the rockers and fired it back together. While I was in there (not a lot of room even when you take the firewall out that sits between the cabin and the engine) I replaced plugs and wires, fitted new points and condenser and set the timing a little more advanced than it had been. I took it for a test drive and got to just short of 160mph and gave it back to the boss man. He came back to me the next day and said it was the best it had ever run and he had manage to pull just over 165mph. That was one of the highlights of my automotive career and it felt good to hear the boss say no one else was ever allowed to touch it bar me. That thing drove like it was on tracks, it went where you aimed it, to this day (35 plus years later) I have not driven a faster car. This brought back so many memories.

I am a longtime fan of the channel, and generally love each episode. But, I honestly feel like this is my favorite, so far. My father in law had a Pantera and I loved it for many years. Seeing these and the history behind them, definitely brought back memories and makes me want another. There is a local person here in the Paulding County GA area who has a late model Pantera that was found without drivetrain. I don't know how much work it took, but it is coyote swapped. Though I love the original Cleveland engines, that thing is a beast and a work of art.

Talk about class acts! I've always loved the Pantera and I had a 351 Cleveland, which I loved as well! As long as you get the oil to the bottom end you're in business,if not,as so many people have discovered, myself included as a youngster, you hear the rod knock and that's all she wrote. Many years later with learning and experience these issues can be mitigated fortunately to enjoy the Cleveland properly. And boy the crackling exhaust just from the "street car" is fantastic and then hearing that race car start up, man oh man, sweet!👍 I love the restaurant segment but can barely stand it when I'm hungry!😁 Drives me crazy when I don't know what I want to eat. LoL. Great stuff and thanks.

👀 Really fun video. Those cars are 👁 🍬 206 mph is fast in that car... Of course it would go 220 even 230 with that 2nd motor. You must know that Pantera's do lift up and fly. You not only need more consistent downforce both front and back, but always drive in clean air, never slipstream a lead vehicle and pull out into turbulence. That yellow one is also super light. Most "super cars" get dangerous at 250 mph, the angle of the Pantera must make it have different lift. Not much weight on those front tires for sure. Still it looks like a rocket parked in a barn 👍 Thanks for the visit in time.

I couldn't tell you more specifics on the Pantera. Local, Italian car lovers couldn't stop insulting it. I just found it to be an honest, affordable car. One of our lifts was a worn out double-post. When we opened up one morning, that lift had nearly stood that Pantera on its bumper. Great, informative video. Best of luck on the purchases.

What a lovely humble man every time any praise was sent his way he deflected it towards the team and Wally. I'm going to go research him as if he could cause companies to redevelop their cars he totally deserves the credit. Dennis has talked the talk but has most definitely walked the walk so he knows not everyone who has a fast car can drive it well and by the sounds of things he drove the nuts off of that beautiful car. That must have been multi-millions of $ that that man and that car have cost the big manufacturers. So like you guys I am in disbelief that these beautiful cars are not right up there with the Ferrari and Ford GT and Porsche's and not to forget Lamborghini, is it the mongrel theory? The cobra was a mongrel and they have always been strong. Even today we are seeing manufacturers using other engines in their cars, I think the vantage uses a BMW lump and Huyra uses an AMG so some seriously good cars are mongrels. I know the old lambos were sharing parts with cars way down the line on price, also you would have never parked an old Lambo on that grass verge after it had been driven for any length of time they do love to burst into flames. Sorry for the extra-long comment but you guys always make things so interesting and entertaining, this channel is way better than what's on TV the camera work the sound and the content beats what top gear and the grand tour, your channel is a car show for car lovers I always come away entertained and educated well done and thank you for all the hard work each one of you put into the show. Best overlooked line in the whole episode..."It's not easy getting in, you have to reenact your birth" I am dying laughing...

Someone needs to sit down with Dennis and do a long form podcast about his life. This man’s story has to be so interesting and informative. Make it happen people.

Wow! Just when I thought your "Significant Stang" video was my favorite. You come up with this, equally awesome video. The back story, just grabbed my attention from beginning to end. To hear the red/blue car start was sweet. But to hear that yellow monster start, that just blew my socks off. This video was absolutely OUTSTANDING!!!!! I don't see how you could possibly top this video. But I am sure looking forward to the next one. Thanks for entertaining us
