Very nice video. What is the liquid food in the syringe. Our parakeets laid her first egg the other day on the bottom of the cage and poked a hole in it, the second egg she laid I believe she ate it, now the third egg I tried putting in a deep bowl and they keep pushing it out and rolling it around the cage so I'm not sure what's going to happen. Any suggestions would be great. I do not have a nesting box I probably can make one we didn't even know she was pregnant.

I used to have two budgies. Two of them died after 5y (They were 2y when I got them). I was too sad to get another but I recently got a pair. When I let them into the aviary, the male courted the female right then I front of me and the whole day throughout they were preening each other and I heard alot of happy chirps. They were totally different from my first budgies. Not at all scared. They got close with me within 1 day, I can say. What makes it more surprising is that it is not even from a breeder but a pet shop that doesn't take care of birds that well (I feel bad for the budgies and try to tame them and give them a great time. They were also squashed in a small cage with other budgies, which I could not bear to see). I think it isn't going to be too late they start mating. I'll try to update hehe

Question : I have 2 budgies (1boy + 1 girl) for 2 weeks now from the pet shop but their ceres colors are not yet obvious which I assumed they are still around 4 months+⁉️ My concern is they are both very aloof (distant) and afraid of me everytime I am opening their cage to change their water & give them food. I tried to give them slices of fruits & vegetables but they never touched any of them. I tried to talked to them nicely every day but I did not notice any single improvement in their behavior. How long do you I will be able to win their trust⁉️

Newly hatched chicks are fed by their parents...Some of them lost their parents so I have to hand feed them. It's a handfeeding formula for young birds

My male has been ready to mate for like over half a year and my female has been laying eggs for about half a year and she wants to hatch them but she doesn't wanna mate and we were considering separating my male and female because the male has been attacking her when she'd deny his advances Well I guess they ended up mating because a singular egg hatched and it was like a moment of clarity for my male bird The first few days he was jealous and wanted the female to give him more attention but then she started letting him look at the baby and he has been so sweet to her ever since and even started feeding and caring for the baby as well and it warms my heart He still wants to mate and desperately does his lil dances for her and I think she understands that mating is how they got the baby because she's been letting him try but he's like twice her size so every time he ends up falling off almost immediately and it's so funny
