I have been using Deno since 2.0 release in all my private projects. It's just great! And it's getting better and better. Thanks!

It’s rare that I get THIS stoked about a software project! Deno peeps, you are doing the lord’s work! To be clear, I was never terribly interested in writing apps for Node. I have, but never really enjoyed the experience. Deno got me excited about writing serious applications, both personally and professionally, in TS/JS! That’s a feat for the normally Python/Go/Rust developer I am! Keep doing amazing things!!

that's awesome to hear that! let us know how we can make TS/JS experience even better for you!

You guys are killing it I am switching from node to Deno, and your commonjs support so I can at least import a bunch of libraries that are javascript based at there core and do a LOT of functionality from previous projects that I am sticking now in a much bigger service, where all the service code I converted to ESM made this possible and very seemless. KEEP up the great work!

Rad! Looks like development is coming through quickly

Deno devs are super cool. I love all features that Deno offers. I really want to switch back to Deno. The only 2 things made me switch back to nodejs were: 1. No firebase-admin sdk support on Deno Deploy 2. Pay-as-you-go payment model (like Firebase Blaze plan) instead of flat 20$ + pay-as-you-go model on Deno Deploy. In fact, if Deno deploy implements #2, I won't even need #1. #1 was only needed because Firebase Blaze plan doesn't have the monthly 20$ fee to opt-in to Pay-as-you-go model.

For the _Deno 1.6+ Compile,_ I hacked out a way to insert an arbitrary blob into the compile which contained my own binary data. Now I won't need to do that any longer! *Thank you guys!* Deno just keeps getting better and better. I’m so glad Ryan kept innovating beyond Node. If y’all haven’t tried Deno yet, it just feels _more rock-solid_ than Node. It feels like you’re working in a rock-solid Rust-based system rather than a C++-based system.

Wouldn't supporting CJS again lead to problems that libraries wont ship / default to ESM? by supporting it, it just keeps the cjs train going. a hard stop would force people to move right?
@andreasWebDev3 сағат бұрын
In theory, yes, but in reality, sometimes you need to use a package over which you may have no control. Adaptation takes time.

When will Deno devs pay attention to the WebView or maybe make support to some cross platform Framework (not only to Tauri)?

I moved from node to deno2 upon release on my DiscordJS project, and although it works well, it randomly crashes with a known bug, lets hope this fixes it.

Curious if this Deno compile would work with Oclif to create standalone CLI scripts vs the tarball method Oclif currently offers.

All the new gen work is amazing but it seems so flawed to me that Deno has to support cjs 🥲 why won't the world just shift to esm and be done with it.
