Crossing my fingers for Serato Pro support. There are evenings like long weddings with many music genres/requests which I simply can't tackle with that rather small 7" touchscreen. Having the flexibility and additional ace in your sleve is always welcomed, in addition! Nice video by the way, very detailed, great job :-)

I could be wrong but I don't think the unit fully analysed the 1000 songs in 20 or 30 seconds. If it's like the prime 4 it will get a file/song list sorted and will fully analyse each song only when you load it up to play (takes roughly 7 seconds) then it will save this analysed data and next time you play that song it is ready and fully analysed. The best way to analyse your full collection is do it in the engine software first.

Denon released the Prime 4 in 2019. And a year later the Prime Go and the Prime 2. At opponent Pioneer, they had the xd - rx, an update version of this console was made, the xdj - rx2. Is there a chance that the Prime 2 will also get an update version ? Will there be a new console this year, on the market .. at the Denon brand ?

The Prime 2 is less than a year old, so I wouldn't expect there to be an upgrade any time soon!

Any experience with using this unit outside? My concern is that there is not a day mode on the screen so I’m worried about screen visibility and glare

The screens are pretty bright, but under direct sunlight, probably not recommended. However, due to the operating system in the Denon controllers, stuff like day mode could be introduced in future firmware updates!

Stuart Holmes I don’t have have either of these, and even though I have 2 pioneer ddj controllers, I have to say denon is a better piece of kit (from the review I’ve seen)

Unless you really do need those external inputs of the RX2, I would go with the Prime 2. Superior in every way. And the Aux-In has its own Cue-Button, so you can still with 3 decks in total, even plug in a TT as long it has line-out (like many Super-OEMs have).

Very informative video :) I love this dj media player, but just one question, how do you change the color effects on it from the filter knob? I was a bit curious about it

There is no way to bring stored loops? How do the jogwheels feel?

The jog wheels are fine, shame there's no adjust option on the controller though!

Heya, you can store 8 loops on the pad sections per track, if that helps you! And the jogwheels can not be adjusted directly, but you can change the nudge/bend sensitivity in the Utlity menu, quite handy :) The Go is very unique and fun imho, but comes at some big compromises (EQ position, several buttons missing, small jogs and VU-metering, no tilted screen...) that's why I go with the Prime 2.

There are obviously more options on Serato as it is software rather than built in hardware FX on the Prime 2.

@@djkit Another question, I noticed this flickering in many, many videos. Could there be a trick, like specific framerate (24/30/60fps...) helping against that? Not crucial, just curious^^

@@BlueHawk80 Yes, actually we found a way to prevent this from happening, you can layer the same video on top of each other but slightly different time frames whilst playing with the transparency settings
