Ten channel OUT to DAW via USB, user assignable EFX order, user programmable Filter parameter control, software lockable fader curves.......I'm sold! I can look past those hideously colored (albeit, nicely illuminated) Green/White/Blue VU meters. This is quite a capable mixer!

risquedj i am with you on that, this thing knocks it out of the park with features and customization options, only the choice of colors in the design..

"BeatBreaker" was one of my favorite EFX of the X1600. Granted, it's gimmicky, but no one can deny that it's fun! Plus you can make your own custom patterns. It's especially useful whilst playing straight 4/4 music......you can add that little bit of broken beat flavor (subtly) to music that otherwise doesn't entertain it.

Beat FX's are not quantized to the beatgrid of the songs when Engine Link is used, only on the bpm timing. Why is that Denon?

It's a good competitor, but is there really anything NEW here? I may very well be missing something, but generally seems about the same as a NXS2, but adds independent filters and loses the ability to apply effects to just low / mid / highs.. That's great as both are great mixers, but is it enough to force clubs / people to switch? Doesn't seem like it...

You don't make a new club standard by adding new features, you just do existing ones a little bit better that the competition. ;) Denon learned that the hard way with previous products that had a bunch of new features but still failed to break into dj booths. People like simplified things, that's why they loved Pioneer (so far).

And a small correction: ability to apply effects to a specific freq band is there. It's a knob instead of three buttons. Both ways have it's advantages, think about it.
