You would create your own personal AdHoc network with your laptop and 3900’s connected directly to a router. Your iOS device would connect to your own network via Wi-Fi. There would be no need to rely on Wi-Fi provided by the venue that your gig is at.

but the laptop doesn't need to be in the mix, just connect your usb drive to the players, players to a router and iPad to the router wirelessly. No need for a laptop to use the iPad
