Haha, I'm watching this video again after all these years and damn that woman sounds robotic. Funny how I didn't think about it then. But yeah the DNX1600 has been my all-time best and favorite mixer. I'm glad I bought it.

I wish they’d release a driver so I can get off of El Capitan and use Traktor Pro 3. Mixer is a beast still but dead weight without a driver. How hard can it be Denon? Why would I upgrade to the x1800 when that will also be dead weight when apple releases another os

Dude ur telling me- I kept my MacBook at whatever old ass OS as soon as I randomly heard that Denon wouldn’t support future updates even though all the documentation repeatedly states how the mixer was natively compatible & future proof via core audio. Wtf

you wont need the soundcard anymore, it works! Just need the timecode´s and scratch pro. I can say this mixer is awesome. The EQ´s are awesome, effect console is great. What really sets it appart is the Midi function. just one awesome product :) Faders have a great feel too.

@ChannelTheVillain not to sure about the 3700s, but the CDJ900s I've got work brilliantly. If you do loose any functionality (which I doubt), you can always map these to some of the mixer controls you don't use that send midi. Denon have designed the DN-X1600 really well and it works seamlessly with Traktor, so I don't see why it would be any different with there CDj's. (Truth be told, I was going to get the 3700s but got a really good deal on some second hand CDJ900s 3 months after release)

It's a shame that Denon doesn't support any more updates for this mixer and the next two generations....If I buy such an expensive product I can expect firmware updates...Thats not the case with Denon...It seems like they want you to buy a new mixer every few years. In my case I'm not able to install new software on my computer that recommends a newer operating system because denon stopped to update it. Why do they build such quality robust stuff when the customer has to kick it away after a few years? If they would update their mixers regularly these mixers would be my nr 1 choice in the future..But sadly this was my last Denon product

I'm probably talking to myself here but... Abso -F.N.- lutely!.. I bought this brand new for a bargain around 2015, without any thought to hassles with mixer/macOS/web browser functionality / compatibility. An issue I'm certain in retrospect the sales guy only too keenly kept quiet about selling dumb-ol' me 5 y.o. stock. Yeah, It's my own fault... I should've done the research... I wanted it as my central mixer for multimedia & mainly for it's onboard FX to use when mixing vinyl against Traktor DVS on the Z2! _That_ didn't last long as soon as I was forced to update macOS for Chrome or Safari to continue working! They've got you all ways haven't they? Like you say, it's such a waste of good kit! I'm just surprised no one's done a bootleg firmware update or similar work around to get it going again! It can't be that hard surely?

just bypassed the audio 8 and went direct ...it works like a champ just make sure you use USB -B for the signal to reach the laptop.

Virtual dj 8 is a much better experience, allowing for much more control for customization. I still use my dns3700 In midi mode and dnx1600 to fully control vdj8. I use a second monitor which is running away from the control pc via HDMI and it destroys any if not all standalone controllers to this day. It is quite possible with my setup to intergrate 2x cheap 10" monitors to compliment the existing dns3700 screens as my graphics card has multiple HDMI outputs, used with the dual screen skin this will also be a more modular approach at bettering any current standalone systems at a fraction of the cost...

got DNX1600, great mix but I had 2 bugs in 2years... one time the effects were bugged, 2nd time the LEDs on master output LEFT stopped working... a bit worried after a 2nd bug. Restart solves everything, but who want to restart mix in a middle of the mix?! :)

***** I updated firmware when I bought it cca 2 years ago, and I searched if some updated firmware was available after I had those two bugs and no, still the same 2yo version. Lets see what year no.3 brings... 2 bugs in 2 years is not something you should worry about I think. One of those was reallly a harmless one, so no big deal. Its a great mixer, I tryed loads of em, even 2x more expensive and all were worse in some areas. DNX has standard placement of knobs with enough space in between em etc, great faders, not too much lights, superb sound (same audiocard as the 2x more expensive Denon). Only thing is gains, those are hard to turn and too sensitive. But gets better in time as you use em. + 2years ago, there were no cases exactly for this model, so I had to buy a custom one, cca 30% more expensive than standard stuff.
