How do you 3D print thicker, larger ceramic parts?
Ricoh’s proprietary binder jetting process makes it possible to print green forms of larger, thicker ceramic components. Powder particles used in printing are actually clusters of ceramic nanoparticles held together with resin. The binder or “ink” used in the process also contains ceramic nanoparticles; when the binder hits the powder bed, it permeates the powder and evenly distributes the particles. The process delivers denser green parts that shrink predictably and can be heavier and thicker than ceramics printed with other processes.
