Is it normal to pull all-nighters? Do you have to do that just to pass or are you trying to get A's

Hi! I really think it just depends on the person and your schedule. I at Maryland haven’t needed to pull an all-nighter just yet! We are striving for the best but also understand that it’s okay not to get straight A’s especially since we are leaning more towards not specializing! -Kathleen

How much will it costs for you to buy a private practice?

Hey! Again, it really depends on many factors. If you are buying a practice, things such as gross yearly income, patient traffic, location, and other factors might influence price of practices. It depends if you want to buy into an existing established practice or start a new one from scratch. I personally don’t know prices of private practices as I have not done any research on this topic yet. These are some factors that would influence the cost though. Hope this helps!

How much do you expect to earn as dentists in future?

Hey! Thanks for the comment. It all depends to be honest. Dentists in the US usually get paid based on production so your speed and efficiency will dictate your salary. It’s not uncommon to see new dentists in the US making anywhere from $150-250k depending on location, demand, types of treatments provided, schedule, etc. There are many factors but that’s a ballpark estimate. you pull all-nighters before exams?

Hey Jason! Tbh, I try my best to avoid having to pull all nighters before exams. It’s not the best practice in my opinion. That being said, sometimes I inevitably am forced to due to procrastination and material buildup. These two exams being back to back in addition to having a practical the day before made it very difficult to cover all the material ahead of time and I unfortunately fell behind. Spring break definitely helped make the double all nighter manageable!

Hey! We’re probably looking at around $250-300k each when we graduate. This number can be more or less depending on some factors but that’s where we expect to be at if nothing changes as of today.

@thedentalduo Have you ever considered NHSC / military scholarship to help pay for school? If you ask me, 300 K worth of debt is ridiculous. I did military, and right now I would owe ~400 K plus interest if I had not decided to choose that route. Don't think I would have gone to dental school if I did not get some type of funding. Anyways, good luck
